Wow, what a crazy 24+ hours! Made my largest ebay purchase ever Link and it turned out exceptionally well. :clapping:

I do wish the previous owner well. I can't imagine keeping a machine like this for less than a month and putting only 301 miles on it and having to sell it without some pretty hard times coming along.

I only got to put about 10 miles on it tonight after doing a pretty thorough check, but what a machine! Thanks to all of you on this forum for making me almost an expert on the bike when I've only had it for a few hours! I knew exactly how to set the idle and what to set it to, how to adjust the suspension, etc because of what I've read on here for the last year and a half (I know, I research something to death before buying :dribble: ) And yes, I ordered the sliders before I came here.

Go ahead, try to go to bed tonight and sleep knowing she's waiting for you in the garage! :p

I gotta say it looks like you got a REALLY good deal. That thing is in great shape and might as well have zero miles on it. Nice find, and congratulations. Now go burn some turns.

No one will think less of you if you spend the night in the garage just to make sure everything's ok. Go ahead.

Congrats on the new ride.

I'd bet 2 bits that the original owner discovered he really needed a goldwing.

You never know, though... He could have went bust via some bank failure. Or there's always the possibility he's opting for a Yaris.

Careful, now. If you don't put over 10 miles/day on it, by the end of the month, you'll discover how the original owner managed the same trick.

Best of luck with the new bike.

When I got my FJR I put over 300 miles on the first day just to break it in.

The second month I had it I went to Newfoundland (4000Km return).

The only reason to have a bike is to RIDE!!!

08 Yamaha WR450F when I want to play in the dirt.

06 FJR1300AE to get away from the rat race ...rapidly.

I can't believe how the whole deal worked out. The guy had the reserve set somewhere north of 11,800 because that was what my max bid was set and I hadn't met the reserve with that bid. I held the high bid of 10,300 from 6 PM on Monday to noon on Tuesday and I guess he spooked. He lowered his reserve 7 hours before bidding closed to 10,999 and I immediately met that price. No one else bid on the bike the rest of the day. (No hard feelings hopefully, but you do understand that I couldn't come on here and blab about it before the bidding closed  ) I was sure at that price that a stealer would jump in there to resell it for a good profit. Lucky, one time in my whole life!

Get this, he bought the bike on June 17, got the YES warranty (transferring to me :yahoo: ) and a tire warranty that was $350 for 3 years or $475 for 5 (not sure which but the dealer told me that he bought one and it wasn't transferable). Now, even if he got a D&H equivalent deal, which is very doubtful, he still had well over $13k in the bike after sales tax. Loosing over 2 grand in less than a month has to be a record.... My biggest fear now is that he didn't make enough money out of the deal to pay off Yamaha credit and I'll have trouble getting the title.

The only flaw I could find on the bike is a small gouge in the plastic panel (where the glove box is mounted) just in front of the tank. Must of happened when he installed the Helibar risers (oh yea, got those too!).

Took today off to change the oil and go ride!!

That's a great purchase! Have fun with her...

I suppose it's always possible that the original owner rode the bike a couple times, did an accidental wheelie and scared himself...it happens.

I found a similar deal from this forum on my 08. His loss, my gain!

Now, go forth and sacrifice rubber at the altar of twisties. :)

No hard feelings hopefully my ass -- you suck!

You come to this forum where real FJR owners share their experiences with you FOR FREE and you neglect to share the fact that this bike was being auctioned on eBay. I can see what kind of contributor You're going to be.

Well if that's how people in SC share information I'm glad that I live in CA where everyone is so giving, selfless and caring. If I were bidding on that bike I certainly would have shared that information with this forum. THAT"S WHAT IT"S FOR! You selfish bastard.

Congratulations on your winning bid.

You probably already know this, but just in case... In order to execute the transfer of the Y.E.S. Warranty to the new buyer, you must take the bike to a Yamaha dealer for an inspection within 15 days of the change of ownership. This is spelled out in the warranty.

Enjoy your new ride!

I was really feeling good for you until this slap in the face (as I sit at work typing this)!

Don't worry about me. At EXACTLY 5:00 I've got a 42 mile commute home, and it's only 99 degrees B) ! Cold beer at my place 5:50 sharp.

Enjoy and Stay Safe.

No, I didn't know this, thanks for the heads up. I bought the bike through a Yamaha dealer who was selling it on consignment and all my dealing were with them. He said he would take care of transferring the warranty so I assume he would verify the condition of the bike but I will definitely check on this.

Thanks again,
