Skip, did you try Chesterfield Valley Powersports? When I was in there a couple weeks ago they had an '06 AE, an '06 A on the floor. Also, a used '05 A. They've always treated me pretty well. Ask for Jack.

zzzzip, living where you do, it would be tuff to be without the Fjr. Saturday rode 79 down passed Clarksville and caught the ferry across the river to the Illinios side and rode 100 back to home. Tons of fun, another 400 mile on the odometer. :D

BTW want to get MODOT to work on 79, some of the surface is coming up, I didn't do it, no not me.

Yes, they were the ones wanting $13,852. I'll ride a Connie before I pay that much. Call me frugal. :angry2:

Thanks, but that is a little too far to go with gas prices like they are.

Get MODOT to work...   Next time come in the state at Hannibal and ride the pretty and twisty part of 79 south to Clarksville. That is good road. Also there is some nice riding in Calhoune Co on the Ill. side then across the ferry to Grafton. I did 250 miles on that route on the FZ6 a few weeks ago and had a nice day. Give me a headsup next time, and maybe I'll go if you want some company. It's a nice ride in the fall.

That sounds about list price plus tax and license. That is probably a decent deal at this time. If you catch a dealer who ordered one on spec and still has it in Sept. you might get a slightly better price, but not by much.

Frugal yes, realistic, probably not. What exactly do you expect to pay for a 06 long after the order program? Most people I talked to were paying about $15,500 out the door for a 06 after the PDP. I paid about $12,600 for my 03 out the door after the PDP.

Hope you enjoy your Connie....... :D

Didn't look too hard, but I found 2 dealers who will let them go for $12,100 otd and 1 for $12,900. My local said he would match the $12,100 if he can find one for me, and offered to do an '07 for a couple of hundered over his cost.

Of course you could be right, and I won't know until I walk through the door with cash in hand what kind of deal I can make. And the Connie's not a bad bike... apples and oranges. B)

OK new reply....

OOOps, I just missed that new '06 on ebay for $12,750+$40 "documentation fee" out the door, in Wisconsin.

Sold with 1 bid at 4:18pm CT. :(

Thats the route I rode, and I agree great ride when the colors change, Ill pm you next time I can find myself down that way.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned D&H in Cullman, AR. yet. Don't know if they have any bikes but should be worth a phone call.

Talked to them today... no bikes. They are taking orders for PDP, but they have no specifics, dates, etc. Nice fellow. We may do business on an '07 if I don't get an '06 and my local dealer can't work with me. B)

JJ Motorsports had one last week he gave a decent deal when I ordered an 04. That's Sycamore IL by Dekalb 815 756 8545 ask for John. Probably alot of them around Chicago area. Good luck

I was in Chicago at Chicago Cycle last Friday (28th) and they had 2 A's and 1 AE on the showroom floor. Also, my dealer here in Bloomington, Illinois (Sportland Honda/Yamaha) has 1 A on their floor. They are not known for their great deals, but it has been on their floor for awhile.

There will be a husband for sale if he don't fork over the money to keep her happy. As

my wife would say "FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD" just buy it and lets go riding.

Called Palatine Power Sports for showroom hours figuring I'd pick up an '06 with cash in hand, and was now quoted $12,448.99 otd. Gosh, these are just like H.D.s-- they must appreciate even before they leave the showroom floor. $350 in 2 days.

Think I'll keep looking. B)

Dang zzzzip, will you please buy the dang bike the suspense is killing me. ;)

Call the guy back and tell him your on your way with his $12,448-$350, and see what he says.

If he argees have him email or fax confirmation.
