Hey Guys, I just bought a Garmin Zumi GPS and wondered where you guys mount them? I thought I seen one mounted to the clutch reservoir but not sure, can someone please tell me where to get the mount I need for my genIII thanks.

Look at Ram mounts. They offer quite a few options. I use a Ram ball mount that replaces the inside clamp on the brake reservoir.

I have a Tech Mount replacement stem nut that I like. Options are plentiful. Search for mounts rather than GPS.

I use the MCL brake reservoir cover with a Powerlet socket wired directly to the battery. Can also be used on the clutch side if desired.

I tried first off the bars (clutch res mount) and it vibrated a lot for me over there. Got one of these, mounted it right in the center with ram mount arm, I'm happy.

That's exactly how mine is mounted. I use the shorter arm to help prevent vibration. Never been a problem except for the couple times I mounted a huge tank bag that got in the way.
Someone just recently had one die and suspected vibration on the handlebar contributed to an early death of the unit. He mounted his new one center like Spud and I.

One incident does not a trend make. Maybe it's b/c I set my suspension a bit softer or we have better roads or whatever but mine's been ok there on the reservoir since 2008. And it's a plain ol' nuvi, nothing fancy. To each his own I guess.

Thanks. I know how science works. :) That's why I said the owner said, "Suspected." What does make a trend is the number of people who put their units there and then comment on the vibration. As always, some will have it and some won't. It will bug some and won't bug others. Doesn't matter to me. I like where mine is, as I'm sure others like their choice also.

So there! :) ...

Not to hijack but I killed two nuvis from vibration on the clutch mount. The USB charging plug became more and more intermittent. That being said, my zumo is in the same place. Different charging mount. No problems yet with it.

I tried several mounting locations and settled on the ram mount on the steering head cap. Several of my friends tried the clutch mount and had vibration issues.

Ditto. I've got mine mounted the same as Bob's. OP has several options.
And vibration is not an issue. Note that if it is not MC specific GPS vibration may play a large role in the life expectancy.

Powerman posted: FYB, what's the terminal velocity of a Garmin on the third skip off the pavement after it's left your FJR?
That's a trick question! Mine jumped off the bike and onto Georgia 400 just inside the Perimeter (I-285) and was hit by 4 cars and smashed into two dozen pieces before it skipped off the pavement three times.

(Not a vibration issue. Operator failed to "snap" the unit properly into the GPS mount, which is firmly attached to the dashboard.)

I use a tankbag when I go out mine is velcroed to the top window of it. My bag is a tall expanding monster that puts the audio at the right height to be able to hear at interstate speeds.

The most excellent RamBone built by 08FJRforme:

That's how mine was mounted until I put the Helibar on then it wouldn't fit. Kept it on the tank bag until I had a chance to order a ball mount to fit the Helibar provided hole. Now it's in basically the same spot as before, just on a different mount.
