Seems like most of the bugs are worked out.. Now it's probably going to snow.
Long range forecast for Sunday is hot and humid (29C/36C) with a chance of thunderstorms, that would put it around the mid 90's with the humidex. I'm pretty sure Tony is used that though :D

Fill up those camelbacks!

Mon- Lake Michigan SS (Extended route)

Tue- Lake Superior SS

Wen- Transition ride to Toledo, OH

Wen night- Lower Lakes SS

Thur/Fri- Great Lakes Gold

Sat/Sun- Return to Florida (Hopefully completing 10,000 miles in 9 days)

Butt then... EVERYTHING is subject to change(S) :p
Tony,

Looks like you've got another great ride put together! Have fun and ride safe.

I'll be leaving Monday morning to ride out to Montana via the Upper Peninsula. PM coming your way.

-Paul

Well, I had hoped to go, but my work schedule just won't allow it. The offer of my house as a maintenance point still stands. I'll PM you.

Good luck, ride safe.

Been conversing with Bust... I can hook up, escort you thru TO (401). As you come down Hwy 400, approaching Toronto, there is a Service Center south of King Road with a thru lane if you want to do a drive-by. I can be there at the south end on-ramp. Bust has my cell for text/whatever. I have hi-viz jacket.

I have given Bust a 1027 mi. route with the appropriate gas stops. Gas up in the Soo before you come across (next exit after the rest stop I think), then Sudbury, then Gravenhurst, then London.

Sounds good Ray, I'll put that service plaza as a way point in my GPS. By the time we get there, we will have either left Bust raping sheep in Sudbury or.. well nevermind; raping sheep is probably the only thing he'll be doing if we leave him somewhere.

The willing can not be raped.. ;)
Raped isn't the right phrase, more like... surprise sex!!

Sounds like Wayne has a handle on the routing and stuff. So all Bust has to do is sit there, twist that.

On a more serious note, their calling for mid 90's on Sunday with the Humidex up here, and it'll most likely be even hotter to the South. Get yourself a camel back, fill it full of ice, and the balance water. Most importantly drink it. Constantly. A sip or two every few minutes and your good. If your not pissing when you stop, drink more. If you've got a cool vest, theirs no shortage of water up here to dip it in.

My Camelback is insulated with foam so the ice last a good long while, but when it gets feckin'hot, I wear it under my jacket, feels great!

Of course, this weather will find Tony stopping at the nearest Walmart for a ski-doo suit :D

My plan is to meet up with you guys at the Elliot Lake turn off (hwy 108 & 17) and ride with you to North Bay. No point in me sweating my ass off, theirs no cert in it for me. Just a ride!

I tell you - I don;'t believe a word of this... I am bringing my heated vest.

Last July I came out of Key West and rode up to Angle Inlet, MN. As I approached Duluth at around 3am

I could see my flippin' breath- I put on my vest- 39 freakin' degrees IN JULY !!!

Yeah - I almost made a mistake by not taking my heated vest last week. With the slight sprinkles between Cochrane and Longlac, I started getting a little chilled and had to put my rain coat on to stay warm. Much colder than it was and I could have been in trouble, not to mention if it had rained at night (which it didn't).

Here you go Sudbury Weather The radar linky is very handy!

It's still a few days off and they'll most likely change it somewhat as it gets closer.
Hey, you can even change the temperature from degree C to F, so us south of the border can understand!
What he's tryin' to say is leave the heated gear at home... Low of 55, high of 85, and it will be over 90 as you get nearer to Toronto.

When you guys nail down your schedule, confirm again what day and time you're crossing at Sault Ste Marie and heading for Sudbury/North Bay. Have to see what will work getting you through Toronto.

I'm with you Tony! Jason and I froze our asses off last month.

When we left Watersmeet it was 39 also. :cold:

Actually, the heated vest isn't a bad idea. After riding in mid 90's all day, when the sun goes down mid 60's feels feckin cold!

Just got off working a 12 hour shift and rode down to the local fire station for witness

signitures. I hand my log book over to have it signed and.... the alarm goes off and they

had to vacate rapidly. I laid down on their picnic table while I waited for them to return.

It didn't take long. Nice bunch- papers are signed and now for some sleep.....

Last bed for the next 5 days- that sucks
