Dont get the cheapies as they are hard on the electrical system.
Uhhh, based on what? I know lots of LD riders who use the symtec/dual star setup and not read of problems. I am not being critical of the comment but would like to know where the facts are to back the statement up.

It isn't the heat tapes, grip wraps or heated grips that are the problem, it is the temperature controller.

Yamaha, Honda and Heat Troller are good Pulse Width Modulating controllers. There is a look-alike kit that is a dead ringer for the Gen I Yamaha grip kit only ~$200 cheaper. It is CHEAPER, not just less expensive. The look-alike controller simply pulses power on/off. When I bench tested this controller it kicked the snot out of my current meter and gave my professional bench power supply a real workout as the controller pulsed 1.4 amps, 0 amps, 1.4 amps, 0 amps... The PWM controller smoothly and steadily supplies power which is much easier on the electrical system.

Ahhhh........ I think I see the light Ionbeam. Interesting. I just had the high/low/off switch with the Dual Stars on the 04.
