Ouchie! Dang that's a bummer but glad it wasn't any worse and you had the good fortune of having a good samaritan on your side! Where are you and do you need any help with anything?

DOGGONEIT!!!! :angry2: :angry2:
Sorry to hear about that Karl! shoot/dang/dagnabbit!!!

If I could help you out personally by taking a mcy trip out there...I would.

Hope you get all the help and healing you need. You are one tough cookie...but this might even be beyond riding it out for you...
Nice thing about being retired you have time on your side. Don't have to be any peticular place at any peticular time, and that helps a bunch when working things out.

Wheatie if there was any way you could help I know you would, thanks for the good thoughts.

Hate hearing this, Airboss. How will you be proceeding from here?

Take care.

(Gonna call that tow company and thank them for taking care of a brother.)
Bikes going into a storage unit, I'm renting a cage.

Tow company is an indepentant, President of the company is the tow driver, CEO and dispatcher is his wife.

Damn dude!
Sorry to hear of your get off! Glad it wasn't worse

Tow truck guy's karma cup is overflowing.

I'm down in Redding, have a garage if ya need to store the bike, let me know.

Greg
Thanks for the offer Greg, months worth of storage is a lot less that tow charges.

Thanks Tyler, yeah, I may just adopt this tow truck guy.

I think I'm good as for as needing anything, got storage for the bike lined up, picking up rental car at Redmond,OR airport late this afternoon.

Airboss,

Ya headed home or are ya still headed out to WFO?

Let me know if ya need anything

Greg

Right now pumped up on ibuprofen and percocet, so I'm feeling pretty good, I feel pretty on so pretty
been thru broken clavicle and 4/ 5 ribs. Don't know that particular med combination, though, but listen up...

Percocet helps pain mucho, but you got to eat 3 or 4 bags of dried prunes every day or you'll be constipated to beat hell. Happens to everyone on this stuff.

Kid you not, hire your friendly nurse or motel clerk to go to the grocery store and buy bags and bags of dried prunes. Now.
Yep....or stool softener like "Dulcolax".

Trust us...you'll be glad you did.

Heal, bro, some of us know it isn't any fun.
Hmm, guess if someone tells me I'm full of sh*t, I'm going to have to agree with them.

came right away, took great care loading and tyeing the bike down on the tilt bed, took me a Motel, unloaded the bike, took me to the emergency room, picked me up from the emergency room, took me to a pharmacy to fill the prescription, and back to the motel.
All that and the tow bill came to less than $150, of course I gave him extra, he didn't want to take it, but I made him.

OK, that is most definitely going above and beyond the call. I have seen time and again where people or things show up at the exact moment they are needed (BeamerReamer and Mrs' encounter with the forest rat comes to mind) and people just do what needs doing because it's the 'right' thing to do, and then want no extra attention or anything. Maybe the tow company had another driver who wouldn't have gone to this extreme, but you happened to spill when he wasn't working and got the guy you got. Lots to complain about in this world for sure, but absolutely lots to be truly thankful for. Glad you and your scoot aren't banged up any worse. Heal fast!
Yes. It is hard to be a good cynic with all these nice folks popping up all over the place.

Airboss - sorry about the get-off and hope you heal soon. You a Navy guy? I've been around a few air bosses back in my flight deck days.

Oh yeah - heed what they say about the pain meds and your daily constitution. They speaketh the truth. Oh yes they do.

I don't know Airboss, 3 weeks ago after my membership was confirmed, I was told the club was closed to new members. . .

Sorry to hear about the collar bone but you apparently met a real mensch in the tow driver. Get well soon!

Not Navy kind of airboss.

airboss comes from the afinity I have for Airdale Terriers (the smartest dogs on the planet), and the fact that with a wife and two grown daughters the only one I could boss was the dog.

Maybe I should see if the admins could change it to Aireboss.

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your spill. That just sucks out loud, and it sounds like you did everything right too.

Glad you are getting some decent care, and thumbs up to the superb service above and beyond the call from the tow co.

Take care and heal well.

Well, crappy luck. Everybody's nightmare, isn't it? A trip-stopping wreck a couple thousand miles from home? Damn. How would I know? Don't ask. Glad you got good help then, and ongoing as needed from the forum folks. Um, I happen to know an FJR guy who's looking for a Gen II here in my area, in case that's on your mind.

I hit a rock in the road a couple years back that gave me a front blowout. Steered onto the gravel along side as I was slowing. Deep gravel. Lucky I didn't make it worse. Like you said, *&*&^% gravel!

". . . I gave him extra, he didn't want to take it, but I made him."
But how did you make him, with a broken collar bone? Hang in there, Airboss. Glad it's no worse.

stuck my good hand in my pocket so he couldn't give back the change.

sell the bike, no way, lotta good miles&smiles left in both of us.

Airboss,

Sorry to hear about your get off. I'm not too far away and could help you if you need it (bike storage, I also have a 5x8 utility trailer too). Desert Valley Powersports is not too far away from you, if you decide to get it fixed out here.

Heck, get it fixed I'll ride it home for you (if you pay my flight back) :)

Dave

PS. Pain meds are good...but BAD constipation can be worse then the pain the meds are helping out. :)

Dagnabit! A real bummer Karl but your mc karma helped you out.

Sounds like you have most of it worked out (ouch I said that?) Won't see you a WFO but if you need someone to ride it home for you let me know

At least you can still light up :cigar: , eh?.

If I can help in any way let me know, here's to a speedy recovery!

the bike is rashed not broken, I'm broken not rashed. ATGATT

Picked up a KIA from the rental place today, should be in Eureka tomorrow afternoon.

After WFO I'll head for Sis's place in Auburn, WA for a week or ten days. Depending on how the healing goes I'll go get the bike and ride home,or I'll leave the bike in storage and have an excuse to come back in maybe September

For what it's worth. My doctor forbid me to ride for more than a month after I broke mine.

Man, sorry about the bad drop off.

Broken CB, that's gotta really be uncomfortable......Healing Kharma sent.

That gravel is some tricky stuff, my first fall was on that stuff, spun out of one patch got traction to the other side of the road, and hit another patch.

Rural roads.....
