Got a ticket for something I didn't do. Jeesh. I don't even live in the Bay Area or use their stinkin' bridges.. JSNS.

Here's my response contesting the ticket..

According the to letter, they review it. If agreed, the case is killed.

If not, I get to pay the fine then appeal it formally to the courts.

What a ******* racket. Reminds me of Odot's signature line..

"you irritatingly incompetent and
infuriatingly unhelpful bunch of twats."

Send them a copy of your Title too. It is proof that the Tag # is attached to the vehicle you describe.

This one should be easy ... Let us know.

DC, don't you own a Harley? Perhaps the shrooms kicked in and you forgot which bike you were on

I think a while back I got one of those for some vehicle I didn't own, in the Bay area too. Idots they are....

From CADOT to Mr Carver,

"Dear sir,

We stand corrected. That is obviously not your bike crossing the bridge. We will withdraw our request for the listed fine. However, we notice from your self provided, unsolicited pictures that your chrome free motorcycle is utilizing unauthorized after market exhaust. You appear to have excessive lighting attached to the front of your motorcycle, all those stickers are a distraction to other drivers, and your tires are not within CA regulated specifications. We have also noted that you are utilizing the top-case and side bags simultaneously, which is a clear violation of Yamaha's owner's manual, forcing us to declare your vehicle as unsafe.

Normally, we would tow and crush your motorcycle, but since you seem reasonable, we are simply going to fine you $4,375.28, due within 30 days of the receipt of this letter.

Thank you for your cooperation, and thank you for not avoiding the tolls on our bridges.

Sincerly;

Your Friends at the CADOT"

Gosh, I thought Chicago was the only place to do that.

Guess I'll stay clear of the bay area. Don't need any more tickets for vehicles I don't own.

Can't blame the ex-con for displaying his plate-making skills while in the slammer! You were just the unfortunate recipient of his random duplication imagination.

My wife and I put about 40k miles on two of our bikes, including at least 30 border crossings, before I noticed we had the tags for the bikes mismatched.

The real funny thing is that KrZy8 got named with moniker because the 8 on the plate is upside down.

I'm pretty sure I'm good here..

Florida's SunPass has been in the news quite a bit lately because of the same thing. One guy got something like 3 different citations over 18 months. It turned out it was a semi from out of state.....and....he drives a car. The guy had to get 8 On Your Side involved to finally get it straightened out.

This one has to be read, unbelievable.

Good to hear and see that the American way of guilty until self proven innocent still applies. Burden of proof on the authorities beyond a shadow of a doubt!!!

YES. I do Proudly own and ride a 1991 FLHTCU HD. But it has a different plate.

Just messing with you. We own two harleys, a honda, one kawasaki, a yamaha, a victory, and a moto guzzi.
