FWIW, the Supreme Court will be ruling on the 2nd amendment in the next few months. The issue of being able to own a gun in certain cities that have banned them is finally come to a head. I do not envy the Supreme Court Justices. They either have to tell some of the largest cities in the US they are fooking wrong, or they have to tell every gun owner in the US, they could be forced to give up their guns. Which do you think they will do?
The court leans right, so there's your answer, Skippy.
Now, go fetch me a beer and a 'gar.
Fetch your own gar.
But, uhhhh ummmm, I don't know right from left no more. So let's be a bit more accurate on the important point here: this Court leans corporatist . . . hard. Is the 2d Amendment's guarantee institutional (i.e., aimed at permitting a standing militia) or individual? That's the question everyone THINKS these fuckers will finally address. Will they, or will they find a way to duck it again? Why'd they take the case in the first place? To allow everyone to own a gun of their choice when there's really no real political advantage to be gained, or to take an opportunity to shore up against possible unrest borne of economic inequality and events?
Used to be a true believer, now I believe it's all for sale, and the Court is too. So, I almost fear this corporatist Court's decision, taht will be announced no later than June. Armed individuals are not likely in the best interests of the protected corporate and political donor classes that own the government. I'm increasingly afraid that IF they make the decision on this central constitutional issue, it'll be against individual rights of gun ownership.
So -- right or left?? Nah -- opportunistic and paid for. First it'll be handguns, and then more limitations and confiscations. Both parties are in on it. Both parties are elected by the same folks' big money. It's kinda like Survivor -- you throw the last ally overboard at the most opportune moment.
And yeah, Brad -- guns are dangerous. Especially when you can't own one. :wink icon: I absolutely fear my government, just like the founders did. It's taken almost 235 years, but the protections they drafted against this crap are almost gone.
But . . . one day a year, free speech reigns on a certain bulletin board. :yahoo:
******' ban me!!!!!
