Thanks for that, Barb. That was about the time and age my dad passed too. Greatest generation indeed. But I got the calls from my two also--feel very lucky we all still enjoy spending time together.

And a happy Grandma's day to you, if there is one. :)

Missing my Dad as well October 12th, 1914 - February 4th, 2015

The above photo was taken during the ceremonies 70th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 2011. Dad was always in his element around the ladies, this group of Sisters was from England

I lost my Pops October 5, 2014.

It's a picture of a picture hanging on our wall, taken of me and Pops on my wedding day almost 13 years ago. Glad he was around to see me succeed and marry up! Happy Father's Day Pops!!

My 33 yr old kid thought last week was fathers day, because his mom told him?

Happy fathers day. I played along, hey what you get me? Scotch, cigars, or you want to go out to eat.

He bought dinner. Let him off today.

Thanks Barb, took the motor-home to my boys on Saturday and celebrated my Grandson's first birthday then spent the night and celebrated Fathers day this morning.

Lost my dad May 13th while he was on a cruise thru the Panama ship canal. Although he got to see and hold his great grandson, it would have been cool for him to hold him on his first birthday.

My daugther had just 16 mounths, so it was my wife who has registered us to a day on a farm. Feeding rabbit and other small animals. Days very friendly!

Charlotte son came by with his wife for the weekend. We three visited her father in Oakland Cemetery.

California son called. We chatted about absolutely nothing for 45 minutes. Nice!

A great day!.

It was a great father's day here at Casa W. All three of our kids and their spouses made the trips home for the weekend.

Saturday AM my son arrived early on his (my old) FJR, and we got in a little ride before it got too warm. In the afternoon we fired up the smoker and cooked up a mess of baby back ribs for dinner. Sat around talking and drinking some new beer he had made. Nothing's better than free beer, unless it's free beer with smoked baby back ribs. ;)

Sunday AM Josie whipped up a big breakfast feast and I made a big stack of pancakes like I used to every Sunday when they were young. In the afternoon I accompanied my son part way back to Vermont (so we got two rides in together) then came back home and had another dinner with the 2 girls and their hubbies before they had to head home.

Our middle daughter is moving from CT to MI in a couple of weeks. A bit melancholy that things may be a little different after that. Take it when you can, while you can.

I am sorry to hear about your dad. that so would have been cool! although, I imagine he was with you all fathers day......something I choose to believe

:)

I still have mine (knock on wood) but, he's getting up there. I'm paying him a lot of visits lately. I love that he lights up like a Christmas tree when I show up. We all know It's coming but, it's still going to kill me when it does. He raised me to be the man I am today. I love that man. I feel like the luckiest only son in the world. No... I'm not crying, I have allergies... lol
