The summer before college when I was 18 my dad bought me a Sporty 883. I rode that hard tailed beast from one side of the country to the other by the time school started. I logged somewhere between 7500 miles in 2 months. I loved every second of it! Great bike, and congrats on the Mrs. getting back up after going down!

Over two years ago my wife was in an accident and totaled her bike and almost herself. Lately she has been getting the urge to pilot her own ride so today we traded the 500 polaris that never got used for a 06 1200 Sportster.

She needed a cruiser sitting position because her hip got run over by a truck and it doesn't bend like it used to. I'm going to sign her up for the safety course tomorow and get her back on the road. :yahoo:

Will post up some pictures when it gets here. I told her to get some assless chaps and some fringe.
I don't know how I missed this thread Ray, but very glad to read it! Very happy the missus is back in the saddle! Make the assless chaps goatskin, K?

Well the Sporty went for a ride ( on the road not in a truck :p ) and all went well. Patti says the riding position is good for her bum hip and the stock seat is good enough for now.

Went to the Harley store to get a couple parts and got sucked into chromeville. It took almost 400.00 before I could escape without severe plastic bleeding. It's Patti's birthday Sunday so I did some Harley farkles. They are kind of like real farkles except they are chrome and one was defective so I have to return it.

We did 150 miles on Sunday and other than the loud pipes She is a happy girl.

Got a set of stock pipes off ebay. :yahoo:

Great to hear Patti is riding again. I hope with that 400 you got some Harley unmentionables for the evenings

About time to change your sig line to include a Hardly Ableson, eh?

The sportster logged a couple hundred more miles today. I think it's going to work out OK.

A stock exhaust is going on this week so maybe I can ride within a 1/4 mile of it. :yahoo:

Good for Patti! I bet her girls in the barn were proud of her. Must be getting chilly on the dry side about now. I'm pleased she's racking up some (s)miles.

It's going to be in the teens this week but sunny and 50 in the afternoon. Still good riding weather.
