I'm starting early, but I will save a sip or two to toast TWN at 9:00 EDT

While I never met TWN, we had an extensive off Forum 'pen-pal' relationship. TWN was into kitchen designs and liked to cook (I'm involved with motorcycles but serious about cooking) so we shared recipes and cooking ideas, planned a hysterical 'to kill a mockingbird' that kept him awake all night for months, let him remissness about his growing up in New England(!) and his schooling here. He was looking forward to a chance to come back here and visit and we were planning some riding when he arrived. And then the switch flipped. Only today is for sure, live it.

(And, that's all I have to say about that)
The first time I met Tim, after having a Bill Mayer seat done, he said, and I quote, "Can you believe them ******* forum Admins!?" :****: And that was a part of Tim. Irreverent. To the point. And caring. He really cared about this forum and the peeps on it. That's why so many of us still remember.

What a time that would have been, ionbeam. Having only met his military brother (the both of us), we can only imagine what might have transpired. You west coasters that got to mingle and know him well are truly lucky,

The Colonel (Chris Bates) traveled around meeting people that were friends of Tim. Very glad to meet him and spend some smokey cigar time in Salem, NH talking with him (note the building in the background).

Great Pix. When I rode to NERDS 2 years ago? I was thinking Tim should have been going too! I really appreciate you EasternBoyz remembering and posting up.

(I think the Timster would have liked that new word used above, he had a great sense of humor)

Tim's tree is doing fine. Check it out.

That's Wabs, Tim's DL650, on the right.

Funny story and weirdness continues surrounding Tim and his bikes. When I bought Wabs from Patti, his widow, Wabs ran for all of 2 miles then crapped out and died. Blown fuel pump fuse. When Ignacio went to ride Tim's FJR, it cooked the clutch. Tonight, right before riding to the tree, Wabs would not turn over. Dead. Nothing. Lots of lights and battery power, no starter motor. Neutral? Check. Kill switch to ON? Check. Kickstand up? Check. WTFO?

Loose connection at clutch lever interlock.

I tell yah, the ghost of TWN is very much a force to be reckoned with.

Chris, Tim's brother, wanted this hat to remain, in wind, rain, sun, heat and cold. I am very surprised at how well that hat is holding up.

Fading sunlight, fading lives for some of us still living. At least we are still in fading stage. Enjoy every day, peeps.

Magic.

A close-up of the sign. All the work we did to put a UV protective clear layer over the top was a good investment.

Due to recent deaths in our immediate family, and some healing that needs to happen in hearts very close to me, there will be no TWN HondarosaBash this October. Next October, though? Watch the **** out and Katie bar the door cause it is going to RAWK.

Sorry to hear of the loss, DC... sending thoughts and energy your way... to Ms. DC as well... and next October sounds like a brilliant plan. :)

Wow Don...that tree has really taken off!
Can you report the picture at the planting time?
The sign traveled around the country to be, well, signed. The sign was custom made with the text on one side and the road squiggle on the other. This is what the sign looked like before the tree ate it, note that it was signed on both sides:
