Headlights not turning on until bike starts (2003)

Owner's manual, p. 3-1:
The headlight comes on automatically when the engine is started and stays on until the key is turned to "OFF", even if the engine stalls.

Useful things, them damn manuals......

If someone has lost their owners manual or are a second or more owner and never got an owners manual Yamaha makes them available here for free. Then again, we know that no real man would actually read a manual any more than stop and ask for directions

Little known fact, a man will actually read a manual. We won't read "Instruction Manuals" but we will read "Service Manuals." Or at least we'll put one on the shelf because it just looks cool there.

Can you help, I've used the forum search and google.com using site:fjrforum.com and I still cannot find McAtrophy's photo tutorial on how to do this? It's also not on the fjrtech site.

I did this earlier this year, back in February. I seem to remember it was the 29th. Can't find the pictures at the moment, but I'll be sure to post up when I do.
