Looks like older mirrors have much more contact with brackets over the '06, that's why I was wondering how "stiff" they mount and how much forward (or not) they are mounted over previous years.

ej, A picture would be worth a thousand words, Thanks...

Here are some pics and yes I know my bike is dirty and I'm missing a screw. :p

Good detail, Thank You for taking the time. You have stock rubber mount gassket on left side mirror with earlier year rubber underneath ? & right side rubber mount gasket under bracket ? Is this to clear windshield or ? Does one mirror vibrate more than the other ? The brackets look great, are the lights brighter/more focused than stock high beam ? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to cover bases before ordering.

I used cut up big truck tire inner tube rubber as a cushion. F50's are a big improvement over high beams alone, not a PHID mind you, but very nice to have the extra oooomph. They are driving lights, therefore have a narrow, focused long range beam, point right side in to reduce roadside sign glare. If you find one vibrating, bend down a touch to eliminate "wing" effect.

Thanks, Rad...From the wiring entering where it does, it looks like it is just tied into high beam wire ? I thought about a thin layer of silicone....

The rubber gasket is just a bumper to protect the paint and comes with the kit. The lights have a fairly focused pattern since they are driving lights but they really compliment the high beams.

It is not just tied into the Hi beam wire. It comes with a relay and harness. It does use the Hi beam wire for a switched power source but the lights draw power from the battery. Plus I have a switch so I can have them come on with the Hi beams or I can leave them off If I like.

Would someone who has fitted these be willing to post a quick "walkthru" at all? I dont think Ill have a problem fitting them its just which panels to remove & which wires to tap into. I havent took any panels off yet so not too confident doing it without a little guidance...! thanks. Btw its an '06 AE if that makes any difference

I ride down a dirt washboard road daily. For those who have done the install on an 06, would it be possible to run another bolt through the bracket and tupperware to prevent the light from jiggling all around when in the dirt? Or is the bracket strong enough as is? Tx guyz.

Finally got them mounted on my 06'. Attaching a couple of pics. I think they blend in sweet with the color match and I ran the wire thru the vent.

The rubber pads that come with Gary's kit seem to keep them stable, I haven't ridden washboard with them yet, although I have done some fairly rough roads.

Biggest problem with the install, the Hella kit was made for a car, out of 50' of loom I used about 10' snipe, snipe, snipe ;)

I got my light kit and installed it over the weekend. All told it took about 2 hours to get everything the way I wanted. The relay is triggered by the high beams. I did not install the switch. I trimmed the long wires down and all connections are soldered. I rode last night and man do these things put out some light! For around $100 this is a great way to put some light out!

I have available a complete kit that includes a pair of new Hella FF50 driving lights, mounting brackets, relay, switch, wire, and neoprene protectors as shown mounted in the photo. These lights are very bright and will shine up the road ahead quite nicely.

I will take a complete kit if you still have one available for 2006 FJR. How should I send you payment?

Can the Hella ff50 housings and brackets be painted to match an 05 Galaxy Blue FJR like you do for the brackets you make or do you think the heat from the lamp will blister the paint. If you think the heat wouldn't be a problem and you could paint them about how much would it be?

Thanks Bill

For sake of conversation, all the lights in the above photos are mounted 'horizontally'. Does anyone know if you can mount the FF50 'vertically'? Or does this screw up the beam/aim/projection?

I want to put a set of lights on the fork bolts near the fender, so if these still work tipped up on their side...
