I wanted my new helmet to be as farkled as my FJR - pin lock visor, integrated sun visor, multi-path ventilation, aerodynamics tested in a wind tunnel for super quiet noise abatement and flip front. So when the new Schuberth C3 became available here in Canada, I started lusting after it. After selling my old bike I had a few bucks so on Saturday I replaced my 4.5 year old BMW System 5 helmet (made by Schuberth) with the new Schuberth C3.
Besides, a key piece of gear like a helmet can make or break any trip - a noisy, uncomfortable helmet, while better than no helmet, is no fun and makes a long trip that much longer and tiring. A proper fitting helmet that is quiet and has features like pin lock and a sun visor not only adds greatly to overall safety in general, but because you're less fatigued you can ride longer and safer - and that's a good thing.
And since my head is the most valuable part me, $800 is money well spent in my opinion.
