Please Lord - help me. I have been having unpure thoughts - more like an obsession. I know in the past when this has occurred I end up buying. With 3 bikes and a kid at UCLA (two more coming up) can you spell d-i-v-o-r-c-e? Help me - please help me (I bet my fat *** wouldn't fit on the damn thing anyway, but still)

If only they would put that motor in a nice sit up bike like the multistrada. However as that will probably not happen gotta say the 1098 is one heck of a bike.

You are in luck...I am a Financial Advisor and my wife is a Counselor and I can help you with your dilemma.

If the $15,000 is an issue, and based on your comments it sounds like it may be, you need to ask yourself...

Will the purchase of this bike be mutualy exclusive to saving for the financial goals of funding your children's college education and providing yourself an income stream in retirement while maintaining healthy relations with your wife?

If the answer is yes, simply change your goals.

Perhaps "Instantaneous satisfaction and owning the very best two wheeled machines on the planet at any cost including the loss of familial relations." will do.

Now go buy that bike conflict free.

-You're welcome in advance.

that is so freakin hot. sell something. trade in that softail. c'mon already!

It's said that the new model is pronounced ten-nine-eight, as in 10-9-8, as opposed to ten ninety-eight:

10 - The number of times those desmoquacko valves will need dealer adjustment in the life of the bike.

9 - The number of times the dealer will **** up the adjustment of same said valves, leaving the thing clattering just as bad as when you brought it in. Get ready to hear "They all do that".

8 - The number of times you will walk away from same dealer pissed off 'cuz they can't figure out how to adjust those damn desmoquacko valves.

Hence the model designation, 10-9-8. Really. I read it on the internet.

so the R1 is more powerful and better looking ;)

The R1 is a great bike and I've got to admit I have/am giving it 'some' thought, but compared to the fine Italian lines of the Duc it looks like a cross between a Power Ranger and a Transformer. What more needs to be said the Duc is ITALIAN, with the lines and the *** appeal of the Sophie Loren of a few years ago (not to mention the performance of the machine{her?}), pass the Chianti --- IMHO

Screw the valve adjustments - $500 or so per year for maintenance - no 'problemmisimo'

Once you've been "bitten" there is no turning back. :( Just park it next to your FJR and take it out once in a while and carve up the twisties. I'd love to do that but my garage is full of "toys" already.
