He just bought a Harley. It's a 2004 Road King IIRC. I don't know what to do; I'm at a complete loss. What should I do? Should I buy him stocks in loctite, or get him coupons for the local tattoo parlor or something? Chrome polish perhaps? Roadside assistance for when it shakes itself apart? He's going bald so I don't think there's much of a chance of a ponytail.

Please, any suggestions will do. Many thanks,

-- A concerned son.

Give him your FJR, You go buy a new one....

And give me the 'king.. I think I can live with that. ;)

Hardleys ain't that bad, Just some of the klowns (DCarver) that own em..

Ya, just mount the snow blower attachment and there ya go, home based business tycoon

Skulls! Lots and lots of skulls! Harley guys can't get enough skulls! Get him socks with skulls, hats with skulls, pirate flags, skull pinky rings, skull headed canes. Anything with a skull makes a Harley guy happy. It's some weird fetish most of them seem to have.

Get him a doo-rag or a wife beater t-shirt. Hey, at least it's two wheels. Does he own a low trailer so he can pick it up when it breaks down?

Have I hit enough cliche's yet???

 ;)

Get him a plow to go with it.

Oh yeah, and some mufflers.

Straight Pipes first thing!

That way he won't hear all the parts falling off while going down the road. You do realize all hardly related threads end up going south quick.

Dave

Be glad he is still around and wants to ride. I wish mine were here and wanted to ride as long as he had his own bike.

+1 to what FJRay said.

I'd be happy just to spend some more time with my Dad, if he was still around.

I sure wouldn't care if he was riding a Hardly, or even if he wasn't riding any murdercycle at all (mine never did).

Why not just try cutting your old man some slack?

PS - Maybe your Dad will be more successful keeping his bike upright? (5 times?)

I was gonna suggest going for a ride with him... perhaps that would a gift unto itself, regardless of bike brand. Life's too short to be a moto-snob... enjoy your dad while you still got him.

Always be kind to point out the puddle of oil underneath the side stand.

Remind him in a respectful tone that his bike is not leaking oil, it is marking its territory.
