Priceless!!! So I'm geared up, bike running, chit chatting with Jim Bain and his sweet wife, Ronda. Now, Ronda doesn't ride, but she spends enough time around the likes of us. She's looking at my bike, and says, "Oh, Jim! Look at Kitty's bike, it's a girlie version of yours!" She was very pleased with herself for being observant. Jim and I were laughing too hard to speak at this point.

Of course I was on the FJR, Jim rides a KLT. .

When we explained, Ronda said very seriously, "well I didn't mean it as an insult, quite the opposite, if its for girls, it must be better"

So a mixed compliment. She thinks the FJR is better than the KLT, but, it's a girls bike . Love it!

This explains why FJRs are so heavily 'farkled'. We, male riders, are getting in touch with our feminine side. I've ridden for 50+ years but this is the first bike I've felt the need to 'accessorize'!

A few years back my gf and I are riding to Killarney for some fish and chips. She knew pretty much zero about bikes. Were tooldling along this back country road behind 4 or 5 Goldwings and 2 Harleys (couldn't pass safely). So we come around this corner and see a bunch of cars in both directions stopped in the road. Turns out their was a bear cub on the shoulder of the road just sitting watching the traffic go by. No momma bear to be found. Their were some guys on mountain bikes ahead of the Wings who moved into the oncoming lane to get around the stopped cars, followed by the guys on the Wings. Harley guys just stayed where the were.

My gf and I are talking in the intercom saying stuff like that Momma bear must be just off the road out of view and that if she comes out, the guys on the mountain bikes will have to peddle like hell to get to a safe distance.

Theirs this little pause, and my gf says, "Man, the guys on those Harleys will be ******".

Christ, I damn near dropped my bike I was laughing so hard.
