Just a note to let you know I've found my favorite tire combination to date. I've put 69,000+ on my 06A in three years and have tried many tires.
I'm not afraid to drag a peg once and awhile but I do mostly freeway driving.
On the front the Metzler, Bridgestone and Dunlop Roadsmart cup and last around 9000 miles. I tried a Dunlop D220, it didn't cup but I didn't like the way it followed all the road grooves. My favorite front tire is the Avon Storm. It doesn't cup, doesn't have deceleration wobble and wears long.
On the back the Metzler, Bridgestone, Dunlop D220 and Avon Storm all last around 8500 to 9000 miles. The Avon's feel more confident in hard cornering. The Dunlop Roadsmart feels as good as the Storm in the corners and has lasted 12,300 miles.
My new set I just put on is an Avon Storm on the front and a Dunlop Roadsmart on the back. It feels good so far and I'll let you all know how it does.
I don't want to spend the money on a set of the Michelin PR2's.
Ride safe.
