Wheatie wrote.....

I did (play banjo)...for a coupla years until wifey and family told me to stop with the annoying sound.
So we can take from this that you were a closet goober when you were north of the Mason-Dixon Line.
I didn't play in no closet. That's why the kin told me to STFU.

I like them. I love the Banjo. I wish I could play one!!
Don't sit there wishin' boy! Y'all jist git one and start pickin'!
Seriously, I keep thinking about it. I should just do it. We just spent $1,600 on a new violin for my 13 year old. That kid is talented and dedicated...Me, in have talent, but I'm lazy.

Can you spare 15 - 30 minutes a day? Check to see if there are any musical instrument shops in your area that rent quality instruments. While you may not wish to spend thousands $$ on a purchase, you also don't want to try learning on a lower quality instrument. If you decide to give it a try, it looks like there's plenty of learning resources on the interweb, and/or the store you rent from may include lessons for a reasonable price. Go for it!

Don't do it...bluesdog is just poking the anthill of your marriage, using banjo music as the stick!

:D

J/k...what do you have to lose? We sure can't hear you all the way from here!

You guys are heeelarious!!

Bluesdog, I am thinking of renting one. We rented my daughter's first violin for over a year. No way I would drop that kind of money not knowing if she'll even like it. So, we rented her a nice violin and $120 of the rental cost went towards the new violin. The sound of the new one is beautiful. She even passed up a more expensive one because she liked the sound of this violin better.

I'm amazed at her progress. She made the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Orchestra and is second chair, which is very good considering her time playing.

I learned the trumpet when I was a kid and figure I can still learn stuff. I may just do it. I grew up in a farm & ranch community and all the old men at church played the banjo, fiddle, or guitar. Brings back memories. I'll play a song just for Mike and Wheaton while they kiss.
