I just rode my '06 from Sacramento, CA to Taos, NM via Flagstaff, AZ and back. About 3200 miles, averaged 35.4 mpg at 90, even 140 for a few moments. Check out Navajo 9 in west - central NM. I found that a Corbin seat works better for me than stock. I'm 6'2" and wish the bike had (gasp) hiway pegs or something to stretch out on. I just drag a foot or stretch forward for 10 seconds and I'm good for another 20 miles. Although I can tell this is a fatter bike than the '06 FZ1 I owned for 4 months, I much prefer the FJR. It's nimble enough for being 560 lbs. I'm now at 4700 miles and look forward to many more trips - some local and some way out.
