I love a RED bike!

Years (decades) ago I chromed the carbs and cases to my 1978 KZ1000, painted it RED, and loved it dearly. My only problem was when I rode it, or rained, or just got dusty I had to clean it (again).

Now I ride the (stock) '03 FJR and let the rain wash it. I saved lots of time and $$$, but mostly I own it to ride, not to show. JMHO

Wow ... I pushed the bidding up to $6,500 ... I've always loved the CBX ...

The pipes look like the one's I have on my VFR - Laser, from Holland

(And I would have posted a pic of them, but the s/w is being annoying again)

Seen in Hope, BC last year.

The owner had just purchased it, and was riding it home to Vancouver from New York.

The bike is completely pristine stock, and iirc had @ 3500 miles on the clock.

Must not actually ride it very much. Has velocity stacks with no air filters. You'd be re-building the top end in about 20k miles like that.

I've been sitting here studying that big filter you mentioned , not2shabby.

It certainly looks like some sort of a filter, doesn't it? But it looks like more than that, those fins look more like cooling fins than the pleats of an air filter. I'd have to rule out turbo or supercharger, ya got open carbs w/o any pressurized manifold. What else could be that size? Looks like it has some sort of hose or wire running out to connect to it. The text said the bike has an air ride system. So I'm gonna guess that it's a high pressure air pump.

I'm stumped.

The mother of all PVC filters? Given the location, perhaps an air or electric shifter or summat like that?

I'd sell that bike in a heartbeat. Too much pressure to keep it pretty and clean, and I suck at that.
