I think you are taking it a little to personally Tim...Who cares?? I still like you, and that's all that matters.
Um, I didn't start this thread, though I will admit I am glad someone did, and I was quick to jump on it. As long as you still like me Zilla, then all is good.

I think we should replace "Reputation" with ******-O-Meter." At least that way it would be a little more fun.

I wasn't even aware that feature was enabled here until I saw this thread. Another forum I frequent used it for some time and ended up removing it. Seemed it served no purpose other than causing conflict.
I wasn't aware of it either; guess that shows my lack of proficiency with computers.

Me either.....not sure I care a whole lot?

I'm going to take your position also!

Hendersonville is such a nice place! I go up there a few times a year to Edneyville and love it! I'm taking my bike next time!

Back in the days before the software updates, I rated someone. That person still has a five star rating, but a zero reputation.

Interesting.

So, this new system calculates our reputation based on the ratings our posts have received?

Really?

To check on this, I followed the Community Forum Software by IP.Board 3.1.2 link on the lower right of every page.

"Reputation

Users can rate posts up or down, earning the author of that post repuation points. Users can earn badges and titles for having a good reputation, encouraging high quality posts across the board."

Reputation whoring will replace post whoring. Funny!

I'm down to 2.....yippee!
Uh... B....isn't it good to be a 4 ?

I didn't even know what Reputation was until I read this thread.

Thanks guys! :D
So glad I'm not the only one, MEM. I need to go back and give a + to the person who explained.

When I was in the service it was "You #1 GI" or "You #10 GI". Then when the movie "10" came out, all things in life were right again!!

Fred

, or give a flying monkey's *** what my rating was.
Exactly!

I think we should replace "Reputation" with ******-O-Meter." At least that way it would be a little more fun.
How about 'Assometer'? Asshatometer? LOL. I'm a metrologist too. Just add 'ometer' to any term and it sounds scientific.

Personally, if I have trouble understanding what a member is trying to say, I will simply send them a PM asking for clarification. I know, what a weird way of interpersonal understanding: conversation!?!?!?
Not me... if it wasn't worth their time to compose a readable post, it's not worth my time to try to decipher it, or ask for clarification. The internet is too full of posts from Frenchy750, James Burleigh, TwoWheelNut, and even Bustanut, to waste time on the morons that can't even spell 3 words out of 4.

Or as a friend said "If you are unable, or unwilling to form your argument into reasonably intelligible sentences and paragraphs, then I have no way to tell you're not a ******* *******."

If I post anything like "What *are* you trying to say?" then it devolves into "your a fcuking grammer nasi!" and I don't have time for that.

I just downcheck 'em and move on.

Well, how's a girl supposed to get a bad rep around here then? Sleep with Old Michael???

:p  :p
