One "Guaranteed" way that has been overlooked: Buy an '08 or '09.

I killed a skunk in my garage last year. smell was worse than you could imagine. found this solution on the internet:

baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap. wash the affected area(s) thoroughly.

after I washed the concrete I put one of those iar fresheners with the little fan in the garage. a week later smell was 100% gone and it hasn't returned even when the garage was closed up for several days in summer.

Damnit! Tonight it was my dog that got hit! Thankfully we were home as we had just returned from TN but sure enough he came in from outside just stinkin' up a storm! Direct shot to the head too.

Unfortunately, I did not heed my mom's advice and stock any of the skunk stuff from Petsmart for cases such as this so I am trying to get it off with the recipe's listed above. It seems to have made a noticable difference but that's like saying I just sold my '83 Chevette and moved up to a '87 Yugo. He still smells. For now, he stays in the bathroom until we can get to the vet or petsmart in the AM.
