:poster_oops: Accelerated past four eighteen wheeler gravel trucks going 55 in 65 mph zone. None had tarps on top of their loads like they are supposed to and peices of gravel where popig out of the beds, so I didn't want to pass one at a time and squeeze in, just decided to whack the throttle and get by all four as quickly as possible. By the time I got past semi # 4 and back into my lane I looked down at the speedometer and it indicated 138.

Needless to say, I hauled it down really quick to about 75mph.

I like the contraption that holds down the gps. Where did you get that???

Mine doesn't look as stable as yours.

Oh, and by the way, I have had mine only up to 130mph (a few times) and it felt like it could have kept going but I chickened out. I like the rush too!

I heard that someone hit a speedo-indicated 150 mph, loaded down with both bags, Givi E52, and soft tail bag chasing a black Audi across the Nevada desert en route to WFO. He quit because of the E52-induced tail wag.

LOL, Madmike you rock.

I had a scathing response to all this cop-bashing ********, but you guys aren't worth it. Unless you are in the job you can never understand the job. Don't give me this "my mommy/daddy were cops, so I know." No you don't know. Your mommy/daddy spared you and never let you into their cop life. They did a great job of protecting you from the horrors they dealt with. As far as giving breaks? I give breaks to all my close friends (if the crime is an infraction), my family (you would cite your own wife/mother?), complete strangers, and yes other cops. Do I give breaks 100% of the time? Only to my wife (cause she'll pay later and to my mom, cause I'm not a robot) So don't bore me with that "cops give cops" break ********, because I have cited and arrested other cops. If you are going to make blanket statements you had better do your research.

Oh btw....I will make sure NO COP BASHING RESPONDENT of this thread EVER gets a break, cause that woudn't be right. We are there to enforce the law, you pay my salary and I want to make sure you get your monies worth! "
okay, now I'm puzzled. I have never said such terms nor comments. What the hell happened with this last hack. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Kinda odd. I'm not a cop (a trauma nurse) and my wife is also not a cop (a teacher). Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Did a "track day" on a very lonely S CO road with no trees and low scrub suitable for spotting errant road rats. Had 145 on the clock for a couple of miles. BTW this tears up your rear tire in a hurry!

You want all out speed, this is the wrong bike for it.
I think a 1.3 litre engine and 600lbs of exhisting mass and ABS is a Excelent platform for maximum speed.

I think the nuttiest of us should band together and finance the design of the first fjr turbo system that comes complete with a new differential and everything you need to do 200 mph, personally im no engineer but i would definately buy one if somebody were to design it and sell it.

I think this is a very beleivable excuse for not getting a ticket should i ever get pulled over while passing trucks

135 Fully loaded and my nuts got too small..... and damn man 63,000 on an 05..... Wow... damn near double my lil ole 33500. GRATS!

I read 142 mph on Alligator Alley. If I kept full throttle I could have gone faster. Slowed down before I came upon the dam everpresent radar guns hiding in the bushes. From all these postings it seems 145 is a good average top speed for the FJR. Face it, under perfect conditions, say like low humidity,no wind, no traffic and no police that avg top speed would be prolly 150 mpk,IMHO.

As a moderator you should be setting a better example. Your disregard for posted speed limits, is one thing, but to flaunt the proof on your Garmin is another. Some of the other forum members may take this up as a challenge to go even faster with [hopefully not] disastrous consequences.

You should set a better example to the younger members who [why I don't know] look up to you.

You may not care for your own life, but what of the innocents that may be harmed or killed as a result of an accident at that speed.

This forum has provided me with so much information about riding safely and ATGATT etc. but at the same time...

I bet if you search the Ferrari (and the like) boards, you're probably going to see a few threads about using all of what the vehicles are designed to do. It would be naive to expect otherwise. I view this Forum as pretty balanced in that regard.
