My ex #2 said 'if you go racing one more time, I'm outta here".

I did.

Tell that f$*n C#*t to go F^#k herself , and go do what a man's gotta do. What the f%*k! :cowboy:

Dude all i can say is make sure she stays a GF and doesnt become the F'n W. cause that is what she will be once you empower her with the golden ring or wifely powers!

I guess this is pilling on...but....answer me again...why do you have your bike? Just for nights n weekends?

If it's dangerous on the commute, what makes it less dangerous when you're riding elsewhere?

Cars is cars and truck are trucks, no matter where you drive.

If she wants stats, then she/you may want to look up the facts that it's more likely, and yes I couldn't believe it, on the rural roads than the main highways. Must be that deer/antelope/tractor/ Sunday driver thing.

Drive it. Commute. Next she'll be telling you that you can't have another beer....too dangerous!

I'm reminded of a saying... Women marry men hoping to change them and they don't. Men marry women hoping they don't change and they do.

I always suggest to couples that are getting serious to not do anything individually or as a couple the first few months/years that they don't want to do for the rest of their lives. Habits & patterns once established are hard to overcome. In other words no good deed goes unpunished. Ride safe in all ways. Good luck

PS Great atitude & financial plan FJRchik

I have a 55 mile one way commute into work each day. Almost all turnpike or highway miles. For the last year the bike as been stored. (It's explained in another thread). Now that I have the time to ride again, I'd like to start taking the bike to work to avoid the huge gas bills the SUV racks up. The GF, however, is doubtful. She thinks that based on the roads I drive that it would be too dangerous. Help me help her see the light!
For those familiar with the area around Philly.....It's Turnpike to Blue Route, to I95 south. Reverse for the commute home.

I voted for the brick.

She enjoys riding, so she must think that's safe, do you just ride on backroads?.

She doesn't like you commuting even in a SUV? How's her driving skills, does SHE drive on freeways? Is SHE confident of HER driving skills? Are you?

(So does that mean she wants you guys to move? <G>)

There are some peeps that just don't get it, whether it's riding or racing or even doing needlepoint!

No, riding isn't safe, driving isnt' safe, jumping out of airplanes isn't safe, living isn't safe...there may be a hurricane next week or something.

We take our chances.

You guys need to do some serious talking. The problem with a lot of folks that think riding whatever isn't safe is that they rarely do ANYTHING adventurous or that might be unsafe.... so they think everyone else should stay home with their head buried under the covers.

Good luck, you're going to need it!

1. If I try to explain...........she thinks it's got to be wrong. :not_i:

2. economics....................total mystery

3. plead and cajole..........never has worked for me. :ermm:

4. flowers..........did that once for no reason, took me weeks to work out from under that one. :black eye:

5. the brick ...............only choice left, and by the time she wakes up I'll be on the road.
