Glad Matt is ok. It's always SO easy to Monday morning quarterback, so here goes.........
Why was he on inside of turn at start of corner?
Possibly initially distracted by cars off to the side?
Looks like he target fixated once things started getting dicey and he crossed the double yellow.
In my not so humble opinion, Matt would benefit from an advanced riding school. He needs to learn how to properly hang off the bike for increased cornering clearance and other benefits if he is going to be riding hard in the curves.
Again, glad he is ok. Poor Honda did not fare so well.
+1
It appears to me he shifts his body weight opposite to the bike lean, first in the left-hand sweeper, and then in the right where he lost it.
Counterweighting is good for control in slow speed turns, not so good for taking curves at highway speed.
Also, he seems to apex too early in the curve. A delayed apex would mean entering the turn a bit wider, achieving a smoother, and ultimately safer line through the curve.
Hope he heals up soon!
