I have been gone from the Forum since 2008. I sold my 2007 FJR and told my family I would not ride anymore. I did good for about a year and got the urge to once more ride. I couldn't find an FJR in the area so opted for a left over 2008 Concous 14 ABS. Not put together like a Yamaha but I enjoyed the bike until the front rotors started grabbing. I checked out the Concours forums and lots of owners were having the same problem. I had the front rotors replaced under warranty but after about 2000 miles I noticed the grabbing starting to rear it's ugly face once more. I used to ride cruisers so I convinced myself that I wanted a Royal Star Venture. I traded the Concours for a 2011 Royal Star last May and I was satisfied for a while but I missed the FJR. There is no comparison between the FJR and other bikes. I wish I had kept the 2007 FJR. I went to the local dealer today and did what I could to get them to take the Royal Star Venture on trade. It was a hard sell, but I rode my new 2012 FJR home today. Oh how I missed the smoothness of the bike and to have all that power once again. I was grinning all the way home. What a joy to ride. Now I must stay away from the farkles for a while so I don't make my wife to upset about the trade. She doesn't ride with me so it is going to be evenn more fun when I do find the time to ride.

I was FNG before but just used Orbit. I will go back to using FNG. I used Orbit on some of the other forums and forgot that I was FNG.

Thanks for the reminder.

Orbit, You did the correct thing. I follow the theory, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission. My last three rides were brought home and explained to the wife. Worked every time!!

Put some heavy bar end wts and Johar grips on that FJR and the buzz will be gone.

That's a long and winding road to find your way back home. Nice to see ya! :clapping:

Well, since I have never strayed, I guess that makes me a fart smeller! :)

Welcome back! Once assimilated, we'll never let you actually leave the collective.

I’m jealous you were able to ride it home after the purchase. My 2012 will be in the dealer’s garage for a few more months yet. Enjoy!! Well played with the wife.
deang were did you purchase your FJR?

orbit great to have you back the FJR is an awesome motorcycle.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Feels good to be back. I bought the FJR at Beach Blvd Powersports in Jacksonville, Fl. I was grinning all the way home. I forgot how smooth the FJR was but after riding the RSV it is like comparing my SUV to my Lexus ISF. I made this purchase and it will be my last one for years. I will put many enjoyable miles on this FJR. I will be asking lots of questions when I start the farkles.

VTFJR13, I bought mine at Stone's Snow Sled, between Newark and Sodus. If you go, tell Jack (owner) Dean sent you.

LOL I too gave up motorcycling for a while, 3 years. Then one day I got the itch and starting looking. Within 2 weeks found the FJR and went to pick it up the next weekend. The wife rode a few times with me so but she still complained about the cost. The next spring I made her take the MSF basic course (I told her it would make it safer for her as a pinion if she knew at least the basics of riding). After the course she wanted her own bike. Now her only complaint is competing for the limited $ on who gets to buy what for their bike!
