I love the look of the black paint and wheels. Not sure how practical it is Texas though. The problem is my '04 is sorted and has low miles so I have no real reason to make the jump. It's just a case of 'want to' more than 'need to'. Oh well, if something falls in my lap I might take the leap. I wonder what the price difference would be.

I was actually wanting to get my wheels polished this upcoming winter, not a fan of painted wheels TBH.
I've always hated light colored wheels, love me some black wheels because I hate cleaning wheels.

Then I discovered this wonderful product for keeping them clean. It's called a shaft drive. I love my silver wheels! :D

Be strong my friend!

I have a confession......... I too have lusted after the all black 2009 FJR. Please don't hate me. The Devil has on occasion found his path to me. But like me, you must be strong and stay away from those Evil Gen II FJRs!!! For we own the purest and best year of FJR, the beautiful 2004.

Just take a look at the sample of miscreants that own Gen II FJRs on this forum..... Would you REALLY want to join ranks with them? I didn't think so. After all, anyone who would own a Gen II FJR must not have had much of a mother!

Be strong! Do NOT go to the Darkside of the Gen II FJR.

Very roughly, about a thousand dollars per year price difference.

Living in texas I would shy away. Riding the Blackbird in my avatar around town during a Michigan August day was torture. But if you gotta have black, I would also check out the 08. Just a little bit of silver breaks it up quite nicely in my opinion.

The Gen-I is the mother... The Gen-II is her hot daughter!

Come to the DarkSide... The women are sexier, and we have cookies!

Mothers are over rated as well. ;)

I've got the cure! Just do like I am and paint your 04 black. the black plastics are a nice contrast to the silver on the frame and the wheels.

If my illegitimate ******* son SkooterG ever bought a Gen II FJR I would immediately disown him! As Genesis sang: "No Son of Mine!"

Amen to that, Brother. Chains and Scottoiler days are gone forever. Good riddance.
