Scab,The weather was good yesterday and the wife wanted to ride. So, off we go. Me on my FZ-6, she on her Vulcan 500. All was right with the world. On the return trip, I thought we'd stop by a friends house and let them witness her motorcycling skills. (She is still learning to ride and has only accumulated a few hundred miles in the saddle.)
My friend lives at the end of a culdesac. I pulled in slowly, made the circle, and stopped. I leaned to the right so my left foot could find neutral.
BAM!!!!

...I'm just sayin'...
Its almost like you love her and actually care about how she feels and emotionally-psycholocially works through this so she can continue to share your motorcycling passion. Whassup wi' dat? I suppose next you're going to tell us you hug your daughters and are involved in their lives thus giving them solid mental and emotional foundations from which to develop into secure, functional adults. Sheesh! That was an awesome write-up. I appreciated your forthrightness and your ability to see through it all to the humor, equally. Nice job!
Take care.
Actually, he does hug his daughters, and not only his biological daughter. He has taken into his heart a step-daughter from a previous marriage and also his two current step-daughters. He doesn't call them his step-daughters though..He says that they are all his daughters...WHAT A MAN HUH? Gotta luv him and do. Thanks so much for the advice Mary. I will give your suggestions a try. I would like to just get on and ride with no distractions. I'll ride locally for a while when I'm by myself. I don't think I have a problem with looking down because David has always told me to look in the direction that I want to go. And that includes straight forward too. Thanks again..Talk to ya later! BBHi Mrs Scab! You haven't seen him NAKED :yahoo:Hm, "scab" and "cute" in the same sentence.....I'm confuzzled.
SSSHHHHH!Sorry to hear it, but are you sure she's not paying you back for something that you said under sedation, the last time?My wife figured out a long time ago that I'm worth more dead than alive, maybe something goin' there?
Hey, with three Crash Club icons on your signature line, maybe I'll park a little further away at next EOM. Nuthin personal, but...
It's nice to see you posting here again...
Sorry to hear about the sudden stop, but it happens to everyone at one time or another...<G>
Anyway, let him follow you ...then you can pay attention to what you're doing and let him worry about where's you're going...much easier that way!
A couple of my friends have the Kaw 400 and 500's ..I've notice that they tend to do most of their stopping with the rear brake..
I was wondering if it's because the bike is so light they just don't think about using the front brake hard enuf. They use it but more like slowing than stopping...
When I had my V* 1100 one thing I practiced was stopping with only my front brake... and then doing panic stops with both brakes.
Did that with the Triumph the other day.... found out it would stop in a perfectly straight line from 50 mph in about 50 feet! You're right... wasn't intentional!
Just take care and keep your chin up... literally.... for some reason lots of ladies want to look down when they're riding...
Maybe it has to do with having to pick up guys dirty socks and underwear or kids toys off the floor so we don't fall and break our necks... whatever... <BG>
Look up.... Isn't that what the MSF instructors keep saying!
No worry, you'll get it! Best practice is by yourself, then you're not worrying about anything else.
I'm still practicing... yeah, I know my riding skills (or lack of) show it! With riding only three times last year I'm very rusty!
Cheers!
Mary
