You should try living in Alabama where most of the rabid fans can't even spell "university," let alone attend one. To hear them tell it, God himself coached there.
No, God didn't coach there but Paul Bryant did. Which by the way, I was born the same day and month as him, attended the University of Bama, lived on Paul Bryant drive, and have been to plenty of games. No, I don't worship him like the rabid fans do.
There are very FEW other college games as exciting and energetic as the SEC: games like Bama & Tenn, or LSU and Auburn, or Florida and Tenn. My buddy graduated from Miss State where the stadium averages 30k per game. I took him to see Bama and Tenn where over 95K+ fans attended... he was amazed and thrilled! Notre Dame and USC is powerful, so is Florida St and Miami, and Ohio and Mich is always a classic. However, almost every weekend there is an incredible game in the SEC so spirit-filled that wakes the dead within a 10 mile radius.
Not braggin..just being honest.
The SEC is the strongest conference and has been historically. Further, the SEC has more nat'l champions in all sports combined (football, baseball, gymnastics, tennis, cheerleading, etc) than any other conference. Yeah, there are a slew of red-necks at the games. But until you go in person to a game like Bama vs Auburn you don't know what your missing!!
I hope for the SEC tha LSU wins. But, if they commit their usual 10+ flags a game and can't manage the clock just as they've failed in prior games this season then sadly Ohio will take the bacon this year. This is a year where there has not been one stand-out team all year long. Until we go to an 8 team playoff, the bowls don't mean much unless there is clearly a champion in the nat'l game... which only happens about every 4 years.
