Georgia losing to Tennessee actually worked out pretty well for us this year. Sports Illustrated is predicting we'll wind up in either the Orange Bowl, or get this - the Rose Bowl? Missouri and West Virginia would both have to lose for that to happen. I've gotta admit thought, I was rooting for the Wildcats there in overtime. Congratulations on pulling through, and good luck against LSU - they're gonna be coming to the Georgia Dome with a big chip on their shoulders.

This wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a student that is a WVU fan. I think it's time to write a quiz. :evilsmiley03:
Hey watch what you say bout WVU! Apparently we are kickin ***! Having been a professor here for going on 4 years you would have thought that I would have known before now that we actually had a football team that was worth a damn  Oops

Actually, if there is one thing I cant stand about Morgantown it has got to be the football culture!

I'm surprised that I am the first to comment on the lunacy of the BCS Bowl ranking system. (Disclaimer I am an LSU Alumni and an LSU fan.)

How can Virginia Tech be ranked above LSU when LSU took them to the wood shed to the tune of 48-7? How the heck can Georgia be ranked ahead of LSU when they are not even playing for the SEC conference championship? Its time to go to a playoff system of some sort. Otherwise we are always end up with championship games with OSU vs WVU which completely misrepresent the competitiveness of the season.

I can always hope.

I have to confess I didn't understand the football culture at LSU when I first got there. Our first weekend we made the mistake of going off campus on a game day, couldn't get back for hours. :( It was easier to just go to the games, it sure does grow on ya'. :yahoo:

HOW BOUT' THOSE HOGS!!!!

What a game and in 3 OT's!!!!!

Then Houston decides to leave and go to Old Miss. Oh well, we need a fresh start after all that has happened with our program this year.

You think you're confused???? Look at what we have to deal with. What a laughing stock we are......

Heading out to see my beloved Ducks get their brains bashed in by Oregon State today. Very sad, I can't believe I'm even saying that, but I'm a realist and you can't win a football game without a QB.

Should be in the upper twenties to low thirties and raining all day in Eugene. Stay tuned for the popcicle report this evening.

Go Ducks! :clapping:

LSU all is forgiven! :yahoo: Already ordered my hat online! Sorry about that MrTwisty, a hell of a game though.

Now if I could just get a couple of teams to lose tonight ...

We came thru for you. I'm shocked that we almost one and were able to put 31 points on the board. One of our freshman QBs doesn't seem to be too bad. Until next season...

just got back home from the sec championship game............ i hope lsu goes to the national championship cause we gave them the sec ;) :p

I think we owe a big thanks to Michigan, they seem to have really pissed Les Miles off! 'Course that might not take a whole bunch. :)

They're indeed going to the national championship game - LSU vaulted to #2 in the BCS, they'll be playing the Buckeyes. This may be the first time I've ever rooted for the Tigers, even though it's just to play devil's advocate and root against the obnoxious Buckeye fans in my office. If the Bucks lose, I'm changing the wallpapers on all their PCs to purple and yellow :D

I can't help but feel Georgia got hosed though - not in being passed over for the title game, since I don't think we deserved to be there - but in being shunted into the Sugar Bowl to play Hawaii. I know they went undefeated, but Hawaii played no ranked teams the entire season and had to come back from a 21-point deficit against Washington, a 4-8 team, in their last game. If the Dawgs don't wipe the field with them they're gonna get laughed out of New Orleans. A much better game would've been USC vs. Georgia in the Rose Bowl, but thanks to ******** conference loyalties that game is going to be a USC pasting of Illinois. Also - why is Kansas in the Orange Bowl over Mizzou? They didn't play a single team ranked in the top 50 this year other than Mizzou, who beat them pretty soundly. Mizzou loses to OU in their conference championship and suddenly falls from #1 to not even getting an at-large pick? WTF?

Of course, the way this season has gone, both of those games could be total surprises. I'd rather them go "as planned" though, because I'm tired of the BCS, and the confusion at the end of this season turning into a bunch of ****** bowl games in January might just be enough of a push to get the conference commissioners' heads out of their collective ***** and talking seriously about a playoff system.

Pretty much sums up why I really don't put any stock thing in the national championship game or the rest of the BCS. It will be a nice recruiting tool, and fun to watch another game, but for me LSU already won the important championship.

I hope LSU can get nice and rested to make OSU 0-9 against the SEC.

I still get a kick out of the '96 Cirtus Bowl when OSU had the all-pro NFL team and after the game Cooper had his waterboy sneak into the lockerroom to steal 2 of the TN receivers cleats to show to the officials that he thought they were illegal.

Should be a good game though!

As for the rest of the BCS games, they pretty much blow IMO.

Whenever "The" OSU loses a game, I ask the most obnoxious of the Bucks fans in the office here if the opposing team was using illegal cleats again :p I look forward to being able to trot out the "DAMNED CLEATS!" line every fall.

If you want to rub further salt in the wound, you can also bring up the Sony PS games the Columbus radio station played after the citrus bowl in which OSU defeated both TN and Nebraska to win the MNC! :) My OSU buddies just love that one as well.

On the flip side, OSU is certainly plugging along, while my Vols and Fulmer seem happy to live in mediocre land. :(

My Oregon Ducks bounced back today, baby! 56-21 final score! What a can of whoop *** they opened up on those boys from South Florida in the third quarter. This was a great way to close out a roller coaster season full of some gut-wrenching blows to our roster.

Looking forward to watching USC dismantle Illinois tomorrow. Go PAC-10!!! I think that game will be over by halftime. :good:

You maybe disappointed, the Illini have been quietly getting the job done all season.
