Billy Joel comes into my mind right away .............

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

Been trying to sway Diane about test riding one of those, but no luck so far.

Follow your heart Ray.

**** Ray, with as much as your back hurts you, I'm surprised you didn't go three wheels sooner. I think the Spyders are badass. Get one, and ride the Hell out of it.

Let us know, and post pictures.

One trend seems to come through all of the posts in this thread - as we get older we tend to gravitate to heavier and heavier motorcycles due to comfort issues, then run into the wall when the big ole things get too heavy to lift/handle. Wonder if there's a market for a comfortable touring-type bike that weighs less than 500 pounds, or maybe something like already exists but isn't cool enough to be widely purchased? I have a feeling that one of those new FJ09's might be made into something like that - pretty nice motor, easy ergonomics, weighs something like 450 pounds, and probably with a little help like more wind protection, a better seat and a cruise control you'd be there.
just a thought......
FJ09 is really cool but not for two up, especially if ya happen to be Ray's size.

and would not a Polaris Slingshot work just as well ?????
I wouldn't have one of those if it was shoved up my *** for free.

Test riding a Spyder RT in the morning. The problem with conventional trikes is that under hard braking especially in a corner they want to tip over. The Spyder has computer controls that take over in that case and prevent most stupid moves. The Spyder also has a power assist on the steering which a standard trike doesn't have.

The main problem is affordability. I have to decide which toys to sell to generate the capitol for the Spyder.I would want to keep the FJR or the KLR so that means the 48 Ford coupe or most of the contents of the gun safe need to go. Low milage 2014 or newer used units are going for 16k and up. I want the newer version for the bigger motor and better economy

I'm looking for a good deal on a Kimber.

You can't sell your Dads Coupe, that wouldn't be right after all these years!

I see reasonable deals on Kimber's pretty regular around here. It depends on what you call a good deal. Kimber gets a lot for the name. I like my Springfield the best of my four 1911 .45's

I named my wife's dog Kimber and I would make you a deal on it.

Yea I'd take a Springfield to less$ and good back up from the company.

No Animals, done with that for now.

"Problem with conventional trikes is that under hard braking especially in a corner they want to tip over." No ****, Sherlock!

#1: Pat D and Enrique, you two have got to stop smoking la Mota ese! None of mi Motocicletas was totaled, I totaled Chester's H-D Freewheeler Trike.

THAT totaled the bike??!! Some paint and a new fender made out of recycled Coors Light cans? Jeeze. I told you not to ride that piece of **** in the first place. Haha...Dangerous and cheap, apparently.

Si Pancho, Papa Chuy Viejo dodged the Bullet on that one ese! Luckily I sprung for the additional supplemental insurance, otherwise I would have been paying $32,500 instead of the $178 I paid before I took the rental off of their property.

Mi Amigo HotRodZilla: A lot more damage than that picture shows, I had to pay $2K deductible immediately, that very afternoon! Harley-Davidson Corp. DOES NOT even offer ABS brakes as an option on their line of trikes, muy Peligro ese!

OK, now I can feel better about sarcasm and derision.

If you aren't/can't ride a two-wheeler, why keep 2 of them in the garage? And a '48 Ford coupe? DUDE. Get a grip. Sell the bikes, maybe a few guns, KEEP THE AWESOME CAR. You can ride it when it's raining instead of the Spyder.

Jeez .... some people.

Hell, don't sugar coat it Ray ..LOL

I test rode a Spyder a few years ago and liked it. Been at the back of my mind ever since. If Deb had her way we'd be on one now.!

I say "go for it"

It's not that I can't or won't do two wheels but when two up on the wing with the trailer we're looking at 1900 lbs and that's more than my spine want's to hold up when it wants a nap.

I doubt I would sell the coupe cause its a one owner survivor that my dad bought new. I think about it but doubt I could follow through.

Good luck with the decision Ray.

Them Spyder's look pretty kool and we know someone who isn't exactly slow on one...hubba, hubba!
