Hmm. Lessee. You're saying it takes a superior intellect to understand cricket, and no-one except the English and most of its former colonies understand the rules. So by that logic, the English and MOIFC must have a superior intellect than the rest :) .
And, since cricket predates most other ball games, I think you might be confusing borrower and lender ;) .

Don't hold your breath waiting for a ride report. I haven't posted one in years. But for information sake so far the spyder is pretty fun.

It takes a whole different skill set to get around corners but if you have spent any time on a ATV it's similar. It has more body roll than I like so an upgrade to the front sway bar may be in order. I've already done some credit card damage with farkleitis. I did some modification to one of my lift tables yesterday so now I can get it up in the air. Haven't found the engine yet but I know it's in there somewhere.

Soon I'll fab a mount for the snow plow and get some chains for the rear tire. It's 26 here this morning so it won't be long till snow.

As a native of One of Her Former Colonies, I'm flattered to be recognized as a superior intellect. Thanks, man! (Frankly, my attention span is too short for cricket. Getting too short for baseball, too.)

And, back on topic, I am thrilled with the FJRay ride report, despite no pictures of biker chicks or food porn.

Donna and I are now in Weatherford, Oklahoma returning from EOM in West Virginia. After 5K miles on America's roads it was nice to see how many CanAm Spyders are out and about having fun, but certainly not as many as all the Harley-Davidson touring rigs we saw! Nice to be traveling!

I, too, sometimes feel the weight of the FJR S-T. At 60 years-old and increasingly bad hips (congenital) I keep thinking of something lighter. So far I'm considering my uncle's VFR outfitted with hard bags, and am liking the thought of the Kaw 1000 Versys. But I had my eyes opened to another possibility for down the road: the Polaris Slingshot. This a side-by-side three-wheeler - two in front, one in back. Yes, probably more car than bike but it's open air. It is regulated as a motorcycle. I was at Action Motor Sports in Idaho Falls last week and the sales manager took me for a spin in one. He says they have already sold a dozen! The low-end version retails at a little over $20K and the fully optioned model is around $24K, actually quite a bit less than a Spyder. It has a very wide wheel stance and felt very stable. It has a traction control - anti-spin - drive mode but switch that off and you can apparently drift the rear end quite controllably. The GM four-cylinder - I think about 180 HP - has tons of torque and get-up-and-go. It hauls ass! This thing would be a lot of fun for not that much money. It does have some storage capacity behind the seats and perhaps some carry racks could be added. The styling ... well, it reminds me of the Batmobile, perhaps over-the-top modern. And it would take up a lot of garage space. Frankly, if/when I have to revert to three wheels, this would be high on the list.

See now, it's all in how you read it. Based on your statement I was looking for the single seat in the back. What a hoot that'd be with my wife and son.

Oh...wheels...you were talking about wheels two in the front and one in the back.

I saw a white one just like that in Lewiston Idaho the last week in August. The owner & wife were Wingers too and just made the switch. They spoke highly of the Spyder and it looked sharp. He told me the wing had become too heavy for him to hold up especially with pillion on board.

Damn, Ray, here I was trying to keep a low profile for both of us after running into you on that other research site. Thanks for breaking some ground on this as you did years ago with safety vests. I have my eye on an F3T and will be test riding an F3 as soon as it cools down a bit here in Socal. And thanks to Tyler, too, for that spin around the hotel lot at last year's Ruben run.

Looking for lightness also and stumbled on to a 2014 dl1000 Vstrom Suzuki at 502-504lbs, torquey beast also.

DC, nuclear jail may drive one KrZy. Be careful not to slip outside the containment vessel.

Lightness does indeed have its charms and I am looking seriously at the FJ09 but if I keep my next bike as long as I have kept the FJR I'll be 78 years young when I trade it in and I am thinking that getting a bit ahead of the curve also has its appeal.
