...however the gas station across the street is open.
Yep, and it's at the gas station where I met up with my new friends on their expensive bikes when I went on a ride by my lonesome few weeks ago:

I think I've exceeded my allotment of postings in this thread. Nevertheless, posting the pic above from that solo ride around these same roads we're talking about here reminded me that the CHP patrols these roads by plane.

"How do you know that, JB?"

I don't wanna talk about it.... <_<

Yes, welllll, that shouldn't be a problem. You know MM2 and group rides..... +5 will be just fine and keep anyone from being left behind or lost. The more skillful of the group are welcome to explore on their own and meet us for lunch while the rest of us protect our licenses.

I assume, with the fire equipment roaming around NorCal, those who patrol (with guns and badges) will be out in "support mode". A good weekend to travel at more "sane" speeds.

See, what them Swedes and all them guys didn't get was that you don't like much of anybody. And of course it's mutual.
Soooo......are you riding or are you just here to kibitz?
Can't I do both? Anyway, the late-breaking decision is I'm almost for sure riding. Be there by 9:10 at the latest, just like Jackson ;) I want to get a few more miles on these perfectly good looking PR's before I get new ones on the 1st. (Damn, why can't we get 60,000 miles a set like them damn car drivers?)

Any chance at a MapSource route? Anyone?

MapSource can't find Moskowite corners.. ok enough rambling.
Don, its bed time or I'd do a mapsource for you.

Moskowite Corners isn't on the map....if you look at Mapsource @ 10 miles elevation, just Norteast of Napa you'll see Vichy Springs. That is Monticello Road. Follow Monticello Road to the "T" intersection @ Capell Valley Rd. THAT is Moskowite Corners.

The map is incorrect in that if you are coming up from Napa, you must make a left turn...it is not a "T", and there is a large parking lot in front of a (now closed) restaurant. That's where we'll be.

From Creston....265 miles.

A marks the spot. Don't forget my glasses....
So I click on JB's link, find an icon of a little camera thingie, click on it and....

Look's who waiting for ya'll! Evidently the state troopers read the FJR forum too...

MoskowiteCop.jpg

We'll be at Chevron/West Sac at 0900 hrs (providing #1 Son picks up #1 Grandson at 0800 hrs like he said he would  )

We'll be lunching with ya'll at Occy, BUT, heading south then east after Jenner to meet up with Sons, Do-in-Lo's, and Grandkids #1 thru #6 for a planned BBQ in the early evening.

After Negri's & BBQ I figure we'll be 10lbs heavier for the weekend

You're right, Steve! I have changed the ride thread to: "Lunch @ Union Hotel".

Anyone know about how long it would take to get to Moskowite Corners from south San Jose area????I want to tag along......
From my Mapsource:

From I-280/101/680 to Moskowite Corners via 680-780-I-80-37-Right on Napa/Vallejo Hwy to Monticello Rd.

CapellValleyRda to I-280N 96.3 mi...... 1:35:35
If you came North on 680 to I-80 and went North on Suisun Valley Rd (which becomes Wooden Valley Rd) then turned Right at the dead-end (Monticello) to Capell Valley Rd, (Moskowite Corners):

US101S to CapellValleyRda 96.5 mi..... 1:53:23

Mike,,, ..... I have respect for you as a person.....

So you've never actually MET MadMike or Old Michael...? Or SacramentoMike or M-HYCLE?

Actually, every FJR Forum member from Sacramento is named Michael. And they're all, well, I'd better stop before two people* on the Forum think I'm a prick...! :(

Jb

*At least two that I know of.... :glare:
I know you are kidding but i will explain anyway...

I remember someone watching my bike after I played all day so i could get drunk and it would be ther in the morning to play with when I sobered up.... him and a few others during WFO.... And I have ridden with hom (met in Jackson with he and andrew and a couple others for the run south)

I was here last year riding with the cali boys.... I made my bike faster hoping to do better this time.... These cali boys are quick..

Right now the fire in the Green Valley area has spread north.... It is not fully contained yet. I would suggest that we meet in Fairfield, then decide our route over to Silverado Trail. The smoke has been pretty heavy... How about Fairfield Starbucks at 9?

Are you thinking Hwy 12 into Napa to avoid the smoke?
Yes... I know it is only Tuesday but the roads up around Berryessa may still have some firefighters on them this weekend.

So is the rendezvous location in play? Is it still Molotov Corner, or Moscovite, or Monkeyhead, or whatever the heck it is...?

80% chance of meeting ya'll in MosCowIttieBitteTitties corner. Unless of course their might be a better place to meet. I tend to arrive early, would rather have a nice cup o joe and newspaper to pass the time waiting than in a old derelict parking lot...

PM sent to nice fella who had MapSource dialed in, as I couldn't get MapSource to make MM's route.. what can I say?

Here is the rendezvous location for FJRs from points south heading to group rides at points north (Treat Blvd. exit off Hwy 680 north; turn left back over the freeway, and right into shopping center):

Starbucks

Main & Treat - Walnut Creek

2922 North Main Street

Walnut Creek, CA 94596

925-935-0928

You're an hour from this rendezvous, unless you ride like a maniac  , in which case it takes 40 minutes.

Time to be determined....

That sounds like the plan, we can meet with Dr Rich at Starbucks in Fairfield. From there we can pick which road to get to the corners.

9:00am at Starbucks would be a good time for Kickstands up depending which way we go from there.

I think I will get there early to have a sausage egg sandwich and coffee.
