If he does keep it, I doubt he will every get it roadworthy. If he does get it roadworthy, he will have to put a lot of work into it so perhaps he will get to know the bike and learn to respect it for what it is.
I agree. I think he will take your advice, but for reasons other than those you have offered. The bike is a classic ROACH and will not be safe or reliable. It might be a fun project bike for someone interested in UJM Roach Choppers. I don't know who those folks are though.

I think this bike is destined to be sold over and over again to unsuspecting noobies, and it will prove to be an introduction to motorcycles and motorcycle restoration for them, and maybe it will lead to some nice second bikes for the lucky ones.

That guy's brother needs to be taken to the woodshed.

Mr. HighPower Pants;

Beautiful prose, and I wish I'd have written it myself. The guy is so ignorant that it's scary, thinking he'll be out there somewhere, with fate waiting right around that next decreasing-radius downhill corner. Too bad he won't listen to anyone, except some other ignorant fool that's busy blowing smoke up his chute, telling him how cool he is now.

With that hard tail, if he hits the right (or wrong) pot hole, he'll bounce up and back, and land on his grapes, right on that FORWARD-SPINNING back tire. Owee. Well, at least he won't reproduce.
