Good luck Smitty :clapping:

...but I don't think you need yer title. If yer gonna have to buy an FJR on the way...I don't think you'll make it in time. :D

Your best bet is to buy the FJR now and get it ready for the 50cc. ;)

j/k ...Good Luck there buddy

Hey smitty, good luck. Say, do you have the stock seat on that KTM? If you do, you'll have callouses on your ars. <_<

I will take my title with me just in case my a$$ tell me to buy a "New FJR somewhere along the way!!
Have you considered a "Schwinn." I have faith that you can make it. After all you are a "Hard ***."

Give'm Hell Smitty.

Hi Peter, I have a Bill "Rocky" Mayer seat on my KTM. I will be taking my trusty Alaskian sheepskin cover, and a new bead-rider just in case.. Anyone want to go?? :dribble: :dribble:   Smitty

Well I have had a change of plans. I am still going to end up in Florida... but by the way of San Diego, Ca. Leaving March 1st (saturday) , first stop Amarillo Tx... next to Phoenix Az . (Get to hang with Skooter G) then to San Diego on Monday. If all goes well Fairlaner and Barbus are going to ride to Phoenix. And on Monday the three of us are going to ride back to San Diego. Get a good days rest then on Wednesday morning do a IBA 50CC. Go from San Diego to Jacksonville FL (coast to coast) in less than 50 hours (2400+ miles). It will be about 5300 miles total, and I will be riding my KTM 990. I will take my title with me just in case my a$$ tell me to buy a "New FJR somewhere along the way!!
I had plans to ride to Hyder AK this year but this will be my trip. I start a new job on the 10th of March and vacation time will be... well almost none. It will be a week on the road, hope it doesn't snow!!! Smitty

Smitty, Good luck on your ride. :clapping: Are you riding with the 50CC with the MTF? I am riding the 100CCC and hope to make it to San Diego to attend the pre-ride dinner with the 50CC group. Hope to see you in San Diego and in JAX.

I spoke to Smitty last night. Wed at about 7:30 pm. He was moving through Texas planning on some rest around 11:00 pm then back at it early Thurs AM like 4:00 He's Nuts!!!

Good Riding Buddy

I was on the phone with Smitty at about 11:30 Texas time today. He was just outside Houston, said the temp had gone up about 20 degrees in the last 15 minutes. Guess he got through the rain and was on the east side of that cold front. He sounded a bit tired and sore (one of his earphones was gouging him, so he was riding "one eared"), but otherwise excited that he had less than 1000 miles to go.

I told him I'd call him before I went to bed to make sure he wasn't too bored later this evening. Some of you guys out west might give him a shout on his cell after about 11 eastern. He thought he'd be in JAX before 1 am local. Bet his *** is really draggin by then. I think this week is the longest and farthest he's ever ridden.

Mike, he's really diggin' on that GPS with XM weather that you leant him!

His main comment to me: I've never seen so many deer in all my life! He said he probably saw over 100 deer in and near the interstate going across west Texas early before dawn. Said he saw most of them with his aux lights and was tempted to shut the lights off just so he wouldn't see all of the deer! WOW!

Go Smitty, GO! :yahoo:

Holy **** Mr. Smitty, what a grreaat ride on the pumpkinmobile! Congratulations! When you get done loafing around the house sleeping your life away, post back here with the gory details or a link to the site where you detail how the KaToom ran, oil consumption, tires, what worked, what didn't, etc..

I for one am VERY interested in hearing your impressions of the KTM as a LD ride..
