If there was one album, to make everyone here listen to, what would it be?

Just to throw a twist on this thread (OP - hopefully this doesn't give you heartburn).

If I could have only 1 album (not song), and that could NOT be a "greatest hits" album (which is kind of cheating):

I think I'd pick Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

Every time a song from that album pops up, I have good thoughts.

I seen that tour 3 times this year. Completely LOVE the novel that accompany the CD also.
Ah. Um. Er.

Hate the novel, and I despise most of the things Kevin J. Anderson has written.

Even though this is the off topic section, this is still a motorcycle forum, so I will not launch into a literary diatribe on the subject of Mr. Anderson.

I've had a huge change of heart. I recommended some great music as many others have, but it wasn't until just now that my reading comprehension kicked in.

The title of the thread reads, "If there was one album you could make everyone here listen to..."

IF I don't have to hear it, but can make you all listen to it, I officially change my vote to 'anything from Barney!' You all are screwed!!

I completely understand why you chose to be a cop now......

Ahh... Another Rush Dinosaur (70's to Signals). I am in that group as well, But like "Hold your Fire" and Clockwork Angels added to the list.

As for the novel, I liked it because it was written based on Neil Pearts lyrics. How many other bands make an album and have a novel written about it? ;)

Rush- Moving Pictures
Definitely the best single album

Red Barchetta always gets me riding faster and faster.

Clockwork Angels as mentioned it great, saw the show in Chicago and they still rock.
Without a doubt.

Uh, Rush's best album is "2112"..............................IMO.
So many great Rush albums to choose from... I fought the urge to say Farewell to Kings as my ONE. But cannot say that without including Hemispheres also. So Moving Pictures was my one single choice. Of course, YMMV. ;-)

Yo AJ Bro', fixed it for you Dude!

It's nice to hear some of these great suggestions. I've now added about 20 new albums for my playlist for my next long ride!

As for my suggestion, if you're into that early- to mid-80s hard rock, I'd say listen to Waysted's "Save Your Prayers."

I always knew my taste in music was a little different.

I just went through all 9 pages and only saw a few of my favorites.

Ricki Lee Jones Self Titled

Beatles Rubber Soul

Bob Dylan Bringing It All Back Home

Dire Straits Self Titled

Garcia/Grisman Self Titled

Natallie Merchant House Carpenters Daughter

Buddy Guy Stone Crazy

Pink Floyd Darkside Of The Moon

Pink Floyd The Wall

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Will The Circle Be Unbroken

Squirrel Nut Zippers Hot

Grateful Dead One From The Vault

Van Morrison Moondance

Jr Wells Hoodoo Man Blues

The Clash London Calling

Sorry,picking one is impossible!!!

On the camping trip last weekend, after an after noon re-fuel, the lunch carbs were kicking in big time and to be honest, I could use a power nap. Not gonna happen so I pull away from the gas station and our road change is less than 100 feet away. We turn right and the road ahead is rural, smooth, and in the distance I can see a decent curve. As I pull the clutch and switch to 3rd, this song pops up on my shuffle:

All of a sudden, I'm smiling inside the helmet and the world is a very cool place.

Right now I would have everyone listen to Clapton's tribute album to JJ Cale, "the Breeze." It's great. Favorite artists have to be Clapton, BB King. Muddy Waters

, Allman Brothers, Buddy Guy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joe Walsh, Shannon Curfman, Eagles, Beatles
