If you buy used FJR from Yamaha dealer and it is one year old with some miles on it? can you buy Y.E.S to cover it for the next 5 years?

Unless the bike is less than a year old, since it's original purchase date, the answer should be "no." Did you ask the dealer? I'm not even sure what the suggested link says, because I've never needed the info, and we can speculate all we want, but the final decision will fall based on Yamaha's rules. Last I knew, their rules said a used bike purchased after the expiration of the original warranty is not eligible for a Y.E.S. extension. Now, if the original buyer purchased Y.E.S., it is transferable to any new buyer, while it is valid.

Many dealers dont fool with YES and instead offer their own extended warranties which are not governed by the YES rules.

Normal pricing for YES is $700ish. D&H undersells everyone else by offering YES for not too much over the wholesale cost. $700ish is pretty close to typical non-YES extended warranties or service agreements.

So ... the bike you ask about may not be eligible for YES, but if you want extended coverage, you should be able to get it on the aftermarket.

Ive traded or sold several FJRs with YES coverage, and in my experience, its not been a major value enhancer. Dealers dont want it because it kills their prospects for selling another warranty on the sale. A private buyer might consider it, but most used bike buyers are looking to cut costs, so theyd like YES, but would try to get it for free in the used sale.

Considering how reliable the FJR has proven to be over the

years, Id rather spend the money on an extended ride or

riding gear.

My FJR hasnt seen a dealer in twelve years.
