Hell, I talked to Mujibar last week when I booked a room at the Executive Inn in Auburn, Maine. At least I THINK it was the Executive Inn and I THINK I booked a room. I'll know Thursday ..... ;)

*with no offense toward those Forumites whose second language is english!!!!! * :D

Mujibar was trying to get a job in India.

The Personnel Manager said, 'Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except one. Unless you pass it you cannot qualify for this job.'

Mujibar said, 'I am ready.'

The manager said, 'Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink and Green.'

Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said, 'Mister Manager, I am ready.'

The manager said, 'Go ahead.'

Mujibar said, 'The telephone goes green, green, and I pink it up, and say, yellow, this is Mujibar.'

Mujibar now works as a technician at a call center for computer problems. No doubt you have spoken to him.

Back in the school days, I asked the counselor about taking a foreign language..............................He suggested English.

Okay I will admit that cracked me up.

I speak two languages, one well, the other not so well...but I like trying. :poorfool:

Problem is, it's not a man working in this country. It's a man working for a company in this country, from an office (cubicle, phone jack) in HIS country, and he's expected to speak English to support us, but it's not his language. He's learned it in school, well enough to speak English with others in his country who have learned it, but he (generalizing) doesn't speak it well enough for native English-speakers.

Racin' Ray's point is that he doesn't expect everyone in a country he's visiting to learn his language so he can talk to them and order dinner. Separate issue from being supported here by someone who barely speaks English.

What do you call a person who speaks two languages?

Bilingual.

A person who speaks three languages?

Trilingual.

A person who speaks one language?

American.

Think you've confused Racin'Ray with k7lvo! That was K7lvo's point. Racin'Ray's point seems to be lost on more than one of us! :dribble:

Yes, it's a PITA trying to get tech support from an outsource, India or wherever.

But let's direct the *****'in at the suits who decided that their bottom line is more important than American jobs.

Maybe Dell could hire over qualified, underemployed Americans to work in India at the call centers.
