Gypsy,
I didn't see that rally icon listed under "banner" images available. How can I get one? Hard to read: that did say 2008, right?

Yes it is hard to read but the rules on the board specify small images. Large ones eat up bandwidth. I started a thread with a link to the icon. See it under "CFR".

I got back late last night. Only 74 km from home and rear tire blows out on the 401 in the rain. Wrestled the FJR through 3 lanes of trucks and pulled safely over. My ride got a ride for the final leg, on the back of a flatbed.

I had an AWESOME time at CFR. The rides were great, and the friendships made were greater. I want to especially thank the organizers, you guys did a great job and should be very proud. Well done Jude, Scott, Mike & Mary Ellen (the kids got the cookies)!

Major BUMMER re: the flat!!! but at least you didn't get hurt in the process. You shouldn't include me in the praise for the organizers (although I appreciate it ;) ) - the cookies were a complete surprise and my unsolicited addition to the event !

The weekend was, indeed, perfect (except for the Tip of the Weekend part but I got that great Yammie tankbag out of it :p ) I'm totally in awe of guys like you who ride such distances and with such skill. Stay safe

Got back early Saturday morning and after a speed run (Labrador to Ottawa in 40 hrs) just spent the last 24 hrs sleeping :lazy: .

Had a great time, many thanks to Jude and Scott for organizing the meet.

I still have my animal magnet, 6 moose (one really close (that probably has been reported in someone’s trip report) and a whale on this trip.

Newfoundland & Labrador were amazing, someone was asking about the weather, Jude, which season, were you referring too? In my 48 hours there I saw temperatures range from 20C down to -5C :cold: , winds from flat calm to 40 knots, seas from smooth too so rough they cancelled the Labrador ferry for a day because they were concerned about the lorries and cars shifting.

Have to go unpack, I have over 8 GB of pictures to sort and crop, I'll post them as I get through them.

We should do this again :drinks: soon :lol2:

I was referring to the 20C part and I can guarantee you that not once did they mention "lorries"! :)

It was great to see you at CFR. Sounds like the trip to NL was worth it but I might do it in July some time.

Thanks for attending. Looking forward to your photos.

HOLY CRAP BUGR! :dribble:

Did you just hit a whale?

Great that you survived...and that you didn't get fined for destruction of the whale and/or ecosystem.

Just got home from the east coast on Saturday mid-night with Sue. All is well but buying the s/o a better seat is top of the shopping list. Thanks again Jude and Scott for all your orginization. We both had a great time and look forward to the next meet. Rain... what rain, we were on the road for two weeks and except for the down pour the sunday you guys left, the only other shower was on the way home saturday night just out side Toronto :clapping:

Penny and Mike, we had a great time with you in St. Andrew's, I think that was a great way to finish a holiday-thank you!

I would also like to add that I appreciate the emails I've received and will respond/write as soon as possible. In the meantime stay safe, healthy and joyful,..until next time: Susan xo
