Thank God, plus austin is a cool town.
Right, Dingofarmer, Austin is a cool town. Too bad you have to ride through Texas to get there.
OK podner, I'z just kidding. Put that sixshooter away.

I've lived off and on in Texas and it is full of speed traps. Austin is a great town. 6th street to hang out, Hill Country to ride through.Right, Dingofarmer, Austin is a cool town. Too bad you have to ride through Texas to get there.

Any town that has a big park in its middle -- that also allows dogs to run free and has a river running thru -- is all-right by me:I've lived off and on in Texas and it is full of speed traps. Thanks for posting that article. It's nice to see a local take on what's happening. My only counter to that is that Laguna Seca is like 9 miles from the nearest 4 lane. Here is a google map link. There are some fine country roads in Texas and I bet that between the State and local government they can get the ingress/egress tuned up (for more tax dollars!)The track is a high priced boondoggle, pulling tax dollars and incentives from a city/state that has a budget shortfall that ranks in the top 5 nationally. SOS, elected officials getting all googly eyed at the talk of "major development" around where the track is being built. There are lies, then there are lying liars:
Clicky
And the location is in the middle of BFE, with non existent infrastructure:

I swore I'd never live in Houston again, but this place is sure starting to look like it. :angry03:
Thanks for posting this, I hadn't really looked into the details. I believe that is ole SRV.[Was that a statue of SRV?
Laguna is a pain to get out of, we usually use the back motocycle gate after sessions, but it requires a long way around into salinas which is usually in the wrong direction.
I hope they do austin right. I would love to drive south from colorado, then across to cali, however monterey is very decent in july weather wise, compared to Texas........
kinda looking for something different next year, we camp out at the track at archery and stay sunday night to eliminate the whole traffic thing. That road needs to be four lanes.I believe that is ole SRV.[Was that a statue of SRV?

Yeah, Salinas was the wrong way for me. I was camped out at Great Basin and had friends in a cage. I waited so long after the race at the first overpass on 1 north of the parking area a Chip came and shook me down ( for naught). Tried to hustle me off, but I wasn't budging. There were cops everywhere!!
I love Indy. It's in the center of town, where there is lots of vending competition, so everything is relatively cheap. But I hear the track is disliked by the riders greatly.
If they move to Austin, you will be in the middle of it all. Especially considering Miller is just over the hills.
Sounds like you are doing Laguna right. If I go back to Laguna, it's going to be with the boys camping at the track. May have to get in shape a little bit before, so I'm not huffing and puffing too much.kinda looking for something different next year, we camp out at the track at archery and stay sunday night to eliminate the whole traffic thing. Yeah, and it's a bit dated. The skyline doesn't look like it does in those pics anymore, it's filled with freakin' condos! Was that a statue of SRV?
