1 auto claim in last 3 yrs - for vandalism & stereo theft

50/100/25 250 deductible

50/100/25 250 deductible - non/underinsured

Allstate, Geico, and Dairyland all quoted around $1250/yr

Progressive quoted $1290/yr

Anyone in Houston in similar situation finding a better deal?

You must be the last to know.............State Farm Ins rates based on CCs not performance.....Give em a call.....

Otherwise, you'd be an idiot not to pay cash and carry liability only $90/year or finance it thru Yamaho Credit Corp which only requires Liability.....Don't buy the Uninsured Motorist portion of the Liability unless the rates are cheap.....$50/year.....

I doens't make sense to be paying out in insurance premiums for the next 5 years $6,000 when the bike won't even be worth that then...

Good luck......

I got a call from Farmers insurance Co's Texas Home office back 8 years ago telling us to get our employees to Vote for Bush For Gov of Texas as they had him in their back pocket and with the resulting rate increases they would get passed if he was elected "They'd be Rich!".

Well, they weren't lying!

The alternative is to finance thru Yamaha credit who only wants liability or even better, pay cash for the bike....Liability only Cost around $90/yr and screw the uninsured motorist coverage too, as that's usually expensive coverage......

Insurnace Agent in Texas

I have Dairyland, and while it did go up this year, it's about $475 with $500 deductibles.

Dairyland- 570/yr. Houston area (just outside Harris county, in Fort Bend county); 42 Y/O. (This also includes liability only on an '82 that I have).

They were cheaper than Geico, State Farm, (and other big names). They were also less than Progressive, which surprised me because I have 2 cars insured with them now.

Agree! I have two bikes and one ordered. I carry liability only for the same reason expressed above. you'll either be :D :( depending on if you stay upright.

If you get full coverage, you pretty much have to crash early in the bikes life to come out ahead. Well, ahead of getting nothing.

Put the diff in premuim in your new bike account!!
