OK, so this is getting interesting...my wife was asking me about this and said "Do you think we need to buy a tire changer for this?" I LOVE MY WIFE!!

Anyway, May is looking tight so perhaps this may wait until June. April around here is too sketchy as far as weather goes (last year would have been no worries, but I wouldn't bet a nickle on it this year). I know we'll be getting into riding season by then, so I'll have to start putting some actual dates out here shortly. Got family over for dinner this afternoon, so maybe this evening I'll take a shot at offering dates and we'll see who sticks and who doesn't!

How much tent space do you have?

I too would have to say "depending on when, and what is going on around me".

I would really enjoy meeting up with a couple of you gentlemen for a ride across the state and back.

My bike is done as far as service goes for a while, but if i can do this, I'd gladly help anyone that needs.

OK, so besides picking a date for this shindig, let me ask what sort of work some of you would like to get done? As mentioned, a limiting factor here is my tool collection, which includes a small socket set, a set of T-handle allen keys, screwdrivers, a vise, a cheapo torque wrench, a small/cheap analog VOM and a small air compressor (no air-tools as yet). I don't have a carb-tune or anything like that, I know there are many tasks that don't require specialized tools, but I just want to be sure we can cover what we need to if I pull this off. Of course, I have various hammers and saws, but I hope we wouldn't need those on an FJR!!

Dates are likely to be in June, as there seems to be a lot going on in May, including Bust's Tech Day on the 10th. I just found out today that my step-daughters college graduation is May 17th, so that date is out and I hope to be at the Wellsboro, PA thing with Top_Speed and WineGuy, et al for Memorial Day weekend 5/24-26. I know there is a camping trip May 31-June 1, but I don't know if anyone responding to this is planning on that event.

So what say you? What work are we looking to accomplish? Would June 7 work for anyone?

June 7 is OK for me as of now. I don't need to do anything to my bike but I can help with some things and learn from watching what other people are working on. I have a Carbtune if that is needed.

June 7th looks ok for me.

I also have a 36mm socket and the spanner to do steering stem maintenance.

I can bring a Motion Pro carb sync'r if Geezer doesn't bring his.

I just might throw the whole tool box in the trailer anyway.

Oh geezus - we can't let Eden fall to the kanuckistanians - you're going to need reinforcements, so I'll through my hat in the ring as a maybe. I've been looking for an excuse to run over to Buffalo for some hot wings anyways.

Subscribed and watching...

-Wayne

Looks like yer well on yer way Mike! I ain't going to be able to make it with all the stuff going on in June, but it looks like the cast of rif raf I've dealt with the last few years is gonna take care of ya.

I'll pray for your sanity!

Good luck with this Mike!I think our 1st tech day was Bill,Ray,Andy an' sooze,Wayne, Pickles..

Not sure what happened after that but I'll venture a guess and say pictures and posts here had a lot to do with it.

Always a great time and once in a while work gets done.
I was there...and there where a few other folks too. And I have also not been able to attend since then...always seems to be bad timing.

getting this thread back on track...I might be interested.

Well, I don't know if I'll get enough interest. We'll see. I really wanted to make it back to Owosso, but every time something comes up and I can't quite pull it off. I figured it's sorta like a group buy here on the forum...if you want one when there isn't one, start it yerself! I'm not sure it's practical, since I don't really have the tools for it.
To make it really successful wnyfjr you absolutely need to have a pack of drunk Canucks attend, since I have been to six CFR's I can send you a detailed list eh!
Since I'm close enough (both distance and drinking wise), I take it UR including my Amerk *** in this groupe?

Mike, I have nothing planned for June, so I could probably do this. I'll just throw all the appropriate tools in my trailer and bring them along. I have a Carbtune also. Subscribing to this thread.

14th would be better for me.
I got a meet-n-ride that weekend with the New England Riders.

7th is bet-tah 4 me, but I'm a local so you guys should rule

Well, I was aiming for the 7th to get it in as early in the riding season as possible. I could throw up a poll to see what works for most folks...but then again, that didn't work too well for Bust and the gang! I'm on the road this week, but I'll check the home calendar when I get back and see what dates I could do in June and then maybe we'll take stock and see what works for most. I'm leaning towards keeping it the 7th for now, but let me see what I can do.

And KJ, with all the Canuckistani's possibly joining in, I can use all the 'Murican support I can get (even if you do show up on that Bavarian Cream Puff)!!

This was the first year we took a poll Mike...Andy has always called the shot but we figured just maybe a few more would show.

You seen how that went.
