Why don't you try seperating the two metalss with a coupler or some plastic fitting , of course schedule 80.
Check the tech specs plastic vs. metal. I think you will be able to use schedule 80 plastic.

If you are pumping water why are you not using schedule 80 plastic for your pipe length instead of metal ?

You might be able to to use to coat your galvy pipe with copper in that area to help slow down the electrolesess
I have to drop the system back down tomorrow(the weather's gonna suck but i have to get it done) and will be putting a sch80 pvc piece between the pump and first piece of pipe but there is just too much weight involved to use it much above that. I'll try and get some pic's of the adventure and flip them up.

Think i'm going try and contact some one at the Ridgid Tool company as this might be up their alley. Probably not a big volume item but an interesting addition to their product line.

Unfortunately, I've had the experience of using these tools to retrieve many down hole instruments worth thousands of dollars. Of course, there are a couple that were cemented in place never to surface again...Another story for another day.

Good for you to make something on the bench and have it work as designed.

I always love stories about people coming up with their own solutions for problems like that.

One of my favorites was about some guys that were trying to run some fiber optic cable through a 4" conduit in a train tunnel. The conduit was just a little bit too long for their multi-thousand dollar compressed air machine to get the leader rope all the way through the conduit.

After standing around and scratching their heads for a bit, one guy went to the toy store and bought a small toy 4 wheel drive truck (Stomper). They tied a string to the toy truck and sent it down the conduit. Worked like a champ!

They were lucky that the toy did not get a flat in the 4" tunnel. would of had to call three aaa for tunnel assistance.

I prefer to use a vacccum cleaner to suck that push. Just more ways to get things done.

Anyhoo,.after much grinding/welding/bending and file work i had created a device from a 4' piece of round bar and some other bit's. We attached it to a coil of 5/8 rope and after several fishing attempts 250 feet! into the ground i finally got the "Teeth" of this thing to engage inside the body of the check valve.
It was overall many hours of modification's to the device to get it to grab the right way and getting it by all of the submersible wire was quite a battle, However............

The Pump and Pipe are now above ground :yahoo:
Wow! Really, REALLY impressive.

No,.... there will not be any pic's of my creation as i think it my be time to talk to a patent lawyer.
I'm glad you said this last part. Sounds like you've got a very useful piece of ingenuity there. Good luck. Patent lawyers don't always have good intuition about what will be granted a patent, especially if the invention is outside their domain. If the first one expresses doubt, get a second opinion, or even a third. Good luck.
