I have done a bit of searching both here and at the App Store for some good GPS for the iphone. Many complain that they cannot create a route on a computer and then transfer that to the phone. If you have an internet connection while you create the route the Trip Tik app from AAA lets you do this. Now to find a good cradle to mount the phone.

For mapping, you could try Copilot. You can create routes in Google Maps then save them to your phone. You just have to add quite a few waypoints to make sure it loads correctly.
