Who ******* cares at this point? :dribble: It's not planned yet and it's too late for most of us to get it scheduled now. Screw the east coast, Thanks for breaking my string of NAFOs at 1. I guess I'll just have to live on the fond memories of the very fist NAFO. Which was planned, reserved, and almost sold out by this time. I miss Tim, (TWN) maybe he could have encouraged those planning this one to do a better job! :assassin: :assassin: :assassin: F**K NAFO!

Sorry that it's too late for you, but it's not too late for most of us. We go through this anticipation every time a major gathering is planned, and the people who do all the work get nothing out of it but grief from the people who don't like some aspect. Some people can't attend if it's held during the school year, some can't attend if it's in the summer, or whatever. There is just no way to make it work for everyone.

Wow...that's a little harsh...don't you think? :fool: :eek:mg: :finger:

Actually, for "some" it may be difficult. Most? I find that hard to believe.

If memory serves, you do realize that 2 years ago NAFO 08 was announced approximately 5 months ahead of the actual meet. That is right, an announcement was made in January for a meet that took place in what, June.. or was it July? I cannot readily find the information to verify. I think that is pretty close, though.

I am absolutely not criticizing that.. but if we followed that same pattern, NAFO10 wouldn't be announced until April for a meet taking place the end of September. We plan to do better than that.

Perhaps it might help if I told you that we planners have lives besides planning motorcycle meets... families to tend to, bills to pay & such. I wish life was strictly motorcycle meets, rides, etc.

If you've missed it, target date for NAFO meet is September 24, 25 & 26.

Cooler heads must prevail. It is what it is. From attending EOM last year a lot of people worked hard to make it happen. Not to mention all the free time they spent putting it together. Let's remember these are all Volunteers putting this effort together. A couple of suggestions for you NM.

1) there must be a death in the family around the scheduled time and you need time off.

2) Hunta virus and your quarantined and can't get to work.

Anyone else want to help out NMroadrunner here?

More suggestion please!

I agree.

Set the coffee cup down and wait like everybody else is. If you can't make it, you can't make it...but don't go off on the people doing the work to plan this. Have some respect, you wouldn't have gone off on TWN like this would you?

Agreed. The planners do a heck of a job!

As for Tim, he generally said things like they were and would've kept things moving while having his own response that'd probably go something like this:

Gunny! :clapping:

True that NAFO 2008 was at the end of July and website for registration was up and going towards the end of January....right about 180 days from the event.

We gave dates a couple months before that.

So, you're on a similar schedule. But people get antsy.....a few need to know as early as possible for vacation bidding.....and unfortunately one person gets rude. Not sure you'd want angry personalities at the event anyway. ;)

Perhaps it might help if I told you that we planners have lives besides planning motorcycle meets... families to tend to, bills to pay & such. I wish life was strictly motorcycle meets, rides, etc.
Go Heidi! Most people realize the volunteer nature of this gig and appreciate your effort. Tim would be proud. :clapping:

Wow. Ouch. Heidi, you and the rest of the folks working on putting NAFO together just keep on doin' what you're doin'. Thanks for your hard work and effort. Don't let one bad apple upset this cart. I know that my vacation request deadline has come and gone, but it doesn't even matter. . . . you set the dates and the place and I'll do whatever I can to make it. Sure, I want to make it as much as anyone, but if I can't, then oh well too bad for me. Not gonna **** all over someone who's really taking on such a huge undertaking. I'm guessing NMRR has never tried to organize a ride for a group before.

I would have had it done by now, Why wait till xxx amount of days before? you've had TWO years to put this together. That equals about 18 months of nothing. To throw something together in the last few months does not do justis to what this event SHOULD and COULD be. It could rival the Honda Owners Group, or the BMW national. But not like this!I'm not asking for the world on a silver platter, just a chance to attend the second NAFO, now I can't, and I'm pissed! Why does this ambition make me a bad guy?

... Why does this ambition make me a bad guy?
Because you were rude, profane and have no place towards people doing a tremendous amount of work.

Your comments show lack of understanding of how much work has been done and how much work will be done.

The NAFO planning team owes you no explanation.

More I read crap like this, the more I like to ride alone...

Really? I show lack of understanding? I orginize and promote 3 BBQ contests under KCBS sanctioning rules in 3 states with over 75 national teams each, competing for $40,000 in prize money, As seen on the Food channel and TLC. This late planning strategy will result in a second class event. NAFO should strive to be the best national motorcycle gathering it can be, not just EOM with a few more attendees. Sorry if I was Rude to the (ahem) planners. Your right, you can't please everybody, just those on the east coast! I thought NAFO was a NATIONAL gathering. My bad. You all have a good time.

NMRR, your disappointment has been duly noted.

It's not the "ambition," it's the attitude espressed in your posts. I know the planners are working on this and, they're volunteering their time to do so while trying to maintain a life outside of these volunteer duties.

So, take a chill pill, NMRR. Blame your boss or whomever else you want for not being able to attend. Just don't rail on the volunteer planners of NAFO.

It is what it is.

Who the hell do you think you are !

KCBS (The Kansas City Barbecue Society) Sanctioning rules States that all request to host A sectioned event must be summited no less than 90 days in advance of the event.

Yes 90 days not 9 friggen months. You can try to fool some of the members but not me. I am a payed member of KCBS and have been for some time.

KCBS compared to FJR That the dumbest thing I have read in a long time.

How much did your membership to FJRFORUM cost ? Payed any dues lately ?

As A Thought you might want to Pick up A new Honda or even a BMW thay both have factory sponced national events.

FJRFORUM and FJRRIDERS Are just a group of Friends and riders with one thing in commen, care to guess what that is ??

One last thing shut the **** up you ungrateful *** wad.
