When you were camping, did you always use a campground or did you pull over and just set up your tent along the road?

What was the greatest distance between gas stations?

Good one Radman, you being a mechanic will appreciate my problem . Rather then me trying to type all the info in you can just go to Larry's blog, he was my partner on the ride, and read From Aug. 6th to 11th and that will explain the problems. My face is still red.

Hi Geezer, you probably don't recall but you were the first person I talked to at WFO.

If you are contemplating a trip North the best advice I can give is for you to purchase a copy of "The Milepost " . It will be the best 27.95 $ you have ever spent.

To answer the camping question, we always camped at campgrounds . You will have no problem finding them, a lot of them are primitive but hey that is part of the fun.

The greatest distance for gas is from Coldfoot to Prudhoe Bay. 244 miles. Otherwise if you fill up when you get to a half of a tank you will have no problem.

For those that like to motel, they are available all the way, the further north you get you should get reservations.

Thanks for the response. I am interested in riding to Alaska, and I really want to try the Haul Road up to Prudhoe. I don't know if I will be able to do it in 2010 but if I don't then I'll plan for 2011.

I am very bad at remembering names but your face looks familiar from WFO. Maybe we'll meet again at NAFO next year.

Hey, if you ever decide to cross Siberia on that URAL thing, carry a spare motor in the side hack. When you are traversing the Ukraine, keep a sharp eye on the pavement for missing manhole covers :blink:

I read a report by a guy named Freeman, who rode a URAL through Russia to Siberia. What a plan, No?
