Hey Scott! Gunny Gypsy - dets!

Long term forecast is for showers - just my kind of riding weather (if you followed my CFR blog) :p . I'll be alone and lonely on Sunday so if you're inclined to hook up, I'd go for a ride up the river with you !?

Geez - it's not like this is NorCal where FJR riders can organize group rides at the drop of a hat.

Radisson, Quebec - I'll be passing by your place next Sunday

AND YOU GIRLS, STOP THROWING ROCKS AT US! You might miss us and hit our precious bikes.

One more sleep :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
Did you get the Spot problem sorted out?

Looks like the Radisson will be busy this week, the ST.n guys are doing it at the same time... that means you MUST fly past them while blowing them a 'pbbbttthhtttt' and saluting them proper like.

Will do. There are about four different groups up there next week. Could make for some great stories

The trip is going great, 29 degrees here today. Moosehead ONLY ran out of gas twice. Already been out to the Bay and doing the LG-2 tour today. The roads are way too much fun. Lots of pics to come. :yahoo:

the only way for Mike to slow down was to limit his fuel! Using the Mikeway Fuel cell for the first time that day.

We dip the wheels into

James Bay.

Please note the Robway and Scottway Fuel cells! Group buy to follow!

Rupert River rapids. Rapids in background are about 15ft in hieght. Pictures do not do it justice!

Noice!

Mike's bike definitely gets worse gas mileage than mine did. I had have 2 bars left and he'd be running on reserve.

I was kinna surprised to see the pickup running down the road in the background of that pic of Mike dipping into his reserve reserve. I figgered it'd be a vehicle an hour type of place.

Here's hoping you guys don't run into the rain they're calling for here on the return trip (forecasts here are for rain for the next 7 days straight (#&$*@&%^$&* with 75mm forecast for tomorrow)

The guys are out doing a short trip now before our tour of the power plant at 2 pm today. Trying to keep up with Mike, Rob, and Scott has been impossible. I am running a solid 90 mph which is fast although not maxed out for a BMW 1200 GS Adventurer but these guys are seriously leaving me behind. Luckily there is no way out except the way they came in.

Except for checking in at the beginning of the James Bay Road the bugs have been a non-issue. It is hot up here however, about 80 degrees during the day and almost no clouds. Last night Rob pointed out the Northern Lights to us.

The food is pricey and what the hell is this no "Coke" brand cola, no ice in your water, and iced tea only comes in a can? Then this morning baked beans with our bacon and eggs. What the hell is going on up here?

Really, other than the distances between facilities the trip is no different than any other except for the super-legal speeds the boys are running for hours on end. If you have the moxie this is the place. Big sweepers and although some of the roads are a little bumpy they get better the farther north that you go. I passed what appeared to be a cop doing about 20 mph over the limit and he just waved.

Also, the Cree indians that we have ran into up here have been super gracious to us. As soon as you appear to be lost or confused someone has stopped and helped. I have never experienced local people as a whole that were more helpful and humorous. One of the indian elders told Scott that he would just send him "smoke signals" with info.

One more thing, the rapids on the Rupert River in CanadianFJR's photos do not even begin to do justice to the enormity of the rapids. Some of those waves in the background are 10-15' high. There is no way a kayak could make it through there and I seriously doubt if the most extreme white water rafters could make it. When you first see it it is breathtaking, the majesty and power of thoses rapids.

For now,

KSFJR - sorry, Scott was using my computer and I did not get him logged out and under my name.

Chester
