I hope the Beemer wiped out the Forest Rat.

Kudos to Don for staying upright! Firggin' deer is scary shit.

Best wishes to Seth for a safe and speedy recovery!!!!!

I just spoke to Don 30 minutes ago. He and Seth were at the SLC airport heading to the boarding gate. Seth is hurting, but able to walk on the leg. His Mom is a Medtech, so he will no doubt get some serious attention when he gets to Phoenix and go for xrays if suggested. Don did say that his BMW was towed to BMW of SLC, and they gave them a ride to the airport. He had to board, so that was all I got.
I'm only a psych. nurse, but there wasn't too much swelling. I put a bag of ice on it and had him elevate it with the suggestion he get it checked out ASAP. But he was walking on it and knee and ankle had good ROM. As long as there isn't some kind of hairline crack or something he should soon turn pretty purple and green colors on that shin.
PM box must be full. I'm at the Zion Hotel. Jim is unpacking his bike. Everybody else has started home. I had my own adventures today but nothing like Don's. I'll empty a few messages.

Shiny,

Where are you? I tried to send you a PM, but "it" wouldn't let me!

Thanks,

SHIN!! Thank god! For a minute there I thought you were relating your "event" with Seth last night! TMI dude!!
You are one SICK dude! Must be why I like you... :D

Just heard about this. Glad to hear Don & Seth are fine.

Hope all goes well with Seth and his leg. Well wishes to you both.

Joe

Very happy both Don and Seth are (more or less) OK, that it happened at ride end not beginning, that forest rat is dead. Glass is 1/2 full now Don gets a new bimmmerwiiimmmer?

Best whishes for Seth :D and Don doesn't have to wait for the final drive to blow up :p

Hello Everybody, Thank you for your many messages of concern and numerous generous offers of help! I just saw Seth at his Mom Jean's house and his right leg is fine. No swelling, minor bruising and he's walking on it.

I'm betting the damage to our new 2012 K1600GT is over $4K and I'm also almost certain I'll not see it fixed until Thanksgiving; it'll be snowing then in Salt Lake City, Utah! I'll send SkooterG to ride it back to Phoenix for me.

I just got back to Phoenix myself and could not wait to check things on this forum. So glad to hear that Seth is basically OK - Don too. Gisele must love Don very much to take such good care of him in an incident that is often deadly. So sad that he and Seth missed Zion and Bryce. Many thanks to Bob for showing us Burr Trail. This remarkable journey into the Waterpocket Fold is a largely undiscovered jewel that is definitely worth the 30 minute side trip we enjoyed. Be sure to check out Mark's photos and video to get a hint of what we discovered.

Looking at that picture I would say that Don needs to quit feeding Seth. He was big and tall the last time they were here and it looks like he has grown a foot since.

Glad you are home and safe and if you need somebody to get the bike I will be glad to get it and store it in my shop  and will only run it in nice weather.

Store it? Hell, I'll go get it and deliver it if he pays the repair bill, the gas and a gray doggie ticket home to St. George! Those K1600s don't have a governor do they?

Here's the place Bob showed us!

I'm glad it's working out Don. I ended up after leaving you and Seth with a bad reaction in my left eye. It was like knives slicing into it. I ended up riding Rte. 12 with my left eye closed. I cut Bryce Canyon short and found an opthomologist in a dinky town who saw me immediately, prescribed steroid drops every hour and I was on the road losing only a couple hours. I made it to Zion and felt better by this am.

Made it to Sparks Nevada today (I got to ride the Alien Highway at Bob's suggestion) and will be home tomorrow. Since we both missed Burr trail and most of Bryce and Zion (all of it in your case) I say we call a mulligan and do it another time together.

Rough day yesterday but I'm pleased it will all be fixed in the end.

I volunteer to get that red beauty for you too! :p

EDIT: I forgot to say, the day finished up with four deer running out in front of me just before the Zion NP entrance. Hit the brakes, ABS engaged and I used my blasters to scatter them. Never had four try to suicide at once!!! The ranger at the gate said a coworker almost hit one that morning coming to work at the park.

I say we all do our part by filling our deer tags!

Governor? How are you going to explain the 3k miles from SLC to AZ?

Don, thanks for the good news!
