Good deal!! Now clean that mess up.......my OCD is going bonkers looking at that pic!!! :clapping:

This would be the perfect time to go down a tooth on the front sprocket. :D :yahoo:

Going smaller on the front sprocket may contribute to shorter life of both chain and sprocket. Altho, 30K+ ain't bad...

WC: are you replacing that sprocket with the OEM type (w/rubber dampers and all) or an after-market one? Is there a final-drive ratio change in the offing?

I'd think He's not into lowering His mileage (gas & chain) with a smaller sprocket . . .
Correct, I am not.

I need every MPG I can get out of this platform.... and it's not really a economy bike to begin with! Since I don't seem to have any issues moving on down the road at a fairly assertive pace  , there is little justification to go up a tooth in back (or down a tooth up front).

I am staying with the OEM sprockets as you can see below (yep, front one has the rubber damper), but I am not staying with the factory RK chain.... no complaints with it (how can I with 30K of use?), yet, I've used either Tsubaki or D.I.D. chains all my life, so it's a comfort/familiarity thing, more than anything else...

I'm sure my Busa buddies will offer up a blast of **** for not using a similar blingy gold-plated chains that came with the bike from the factory.... this D.I.D. chain has a brushed-nickel finish, which is just fine by me....

Dale,

Would you believe that the "Harbor Freight 1/2" Electric Uber-Heavy Duty Impact Wrench" wouldn't undo my front axle nut? The PO must have not known to quit at the specified 52ftlbs ;) I guess it loosened it some though, cause I did get it off with a pipe on the ratchet afterward.

These things are great for lug nuts.

The weak link in these wrenches is the trigger switch, it'll fail in time and they wanted more in shipping than the replacement switch, so I spent another $40.

I was happy to read that the swarf on the shaft threads in that picture was only an over-abundance of LocTite!

Christ, at first glance, it looked like it had pulled the damn threads. :ermm:

Question, if I may: I realize the advantage of the Pro Oiler for your LD rides... but how large a mess does it make on the rear of the bike? Once you get it dialed-in, is it reasonable for everyday use on a chain driven ride?

Mission Accomplished, gentlemen! Harbor Freight 1/2" Electric Uber-Heavy Duty Impact Wrench, on sale for $39.99!!!

I got the same one. Great tool, and I have full air tools. The amount of force an impact driver applies is tremendous!
